I've just been for a wander round my garden while it was getting dark, and i saw dozens of tiny baby frogs hopping about!

I thought i'd lost them all this year because I had to rebuild my pond in the spring, just after all the spawn had hatched. Saved as much as i could in a bucket (fish went in a clean dustbin), but when i put the tadpoles and fish back in the new pond a week later, the tadpoles dissappeared really quickly. Thought the fish had eaten them all because their natural food resources had gone.

Anyway, lots of them survived, and i'm so glad. :sunny:

{Mystique!} So glad you're back!! :D

I used to collect tadpoles as a kid. I'd rush out the front door of my great-grandmother's (Granny) house wearing nothing but a pair of OshKosh B'Gosh coveralls (no shoes), toting a mason jar. "Don't you go to the tadpole pond!" she'd always yell after me, knowing that's exactly where I was going! 8O I'd come back with a jarful of tadpoles, pockets full of bullfrogs and snakes and snails and other slimey thingies, sometimes a turtle or two.

Frogs are neat! I saw some at the Aquarium a while back that were the size of a pencil eraser ~ and they were poisonous! Unreal!

Nature sure does make some neat stuff!:elf:

You're right there, it sure does.
Today i saw 2 red dragonflies over the pond, only ever had blue ones before - but they're all beautiful!

and GUNNER, thanks for the advice, but these days if i meet someone claiming to be a prince, i ALWAYS run a mile! haha

I just love frogs... When we lived in Florida we had lots of little green tree frogs all over the place. I miss them.. I'm happy your little froggies survived.
