I was online for a while when I heard two guys talking. They had been there for a while so I investigated.
They were crouching down around a metal grate and I asked what the matter was.
Turns out, they had been informed of a baby hummingbird that had fallen from its nest earlier. They had rescued it and formed a make-shift nest and placed it in a small box that they had taped to the railing of their second floor apartment.
Saddly, it had fallen out and they were looking for it again.
The baby was making a high-pitched chirp and the mother was trying to feed, or find it. :) So, I joined in.
The baby is now in a sturdy box that we hung in the tree and, where cats cannot get to it. The mother continues to feed it and, while there is a small chance of survival, I pray for it safety.:(
Please join me and, thank the two young men that took the time to rescue such a fragile life. Most would have shrugged it off but these two were sincerely concerned.
There is still hope in this world.
