I am very ashamed of myself. In many other of my posts I have spoke of Laziness, and people leaving this path because they want things here and now. Now I feel that I have become a victim to Laziness. I noticed that everytime I want to read something on this I find my attention wavers to other simpler things. I ofcourse don't want to leave this path, I know it is for me, I have done 8 years of soul-searching and know in my heart this is me. but i want to rid myself of this laziness. Can anyone help me, I fear that this is blocking me from growing another step furthur. I really need help.

I felt like this, I prayed to the Goddess to help give me faith and she has, i feel more strongly about my path then i ever have.
just ask for her help, and she will help you.

Don't worry Mist-- check out the thread in New Pagans called "Magical Slump." I think we all go through it. Sometimes you've gotta focus on the simpler things, and you grow just as much from those.

Although you are lucky to have found your path at such a young age, don't lose sight of all the other things that make up a teenagers life (or anyone else's for that matter!), one of the main ones being just having FUN!
A pagan's life is not just about learning and progressing on their path, sometimes you just need time out to chill, play and laugh. It could be for a day, a month or even a year. After 8 years of 'soul-searching' (an awful long time for a 14 year old!) you could be due for some more light-hearted pursuits. Try not to be in such a rush to learn everything as fast as you can, you've plenty of time to learn, a whole lifetime.
A couple of people have said to me that they find pagans boring because "they're all so serious" (this was before they found out what my occassional part-time job is, hehe!). I've not found this to be the case at all, but if all you're trying to do is read, talk, study, learn your chosen path it does make for a very single-tracked mind.

When your attention wavers, forget what you're trying to read for a while and go find something else to do, there's nothing wrong with the simpler things in life, we all need a break.
I'm sure anyone else here who has studied any subject - whether for exams or personal interest - will agree that the brain can only take in so much in a single sitting, and sometimes it closes down for a reason - learn to listen to it.
Please don't take this a criticism, it's good to see a youngster with a purpose in life, but more a friendly word of advice from someone who once became so engrossed in work and study that they forgot how to have fun and laugh.

Don't worry. I think this happens to everyone at some time or another. I have days where I say to myself, "I should meditate today." Then when it comes down to it, I don't want to take the time to raise the energy. But the next day I'm up and going and ready to praise that Earth Mother for all she's worth! :) You don't have to read anything either. Go for a walk outside. I've learned many valuble things just by observing nature.

i suggest a subtle form of self programming.

before you go to sleep, repeat to yourself perhaps three or more times something about yourself that you'd like to change (ie: i will be more focused in my studies;)

you can program yourself to do anything really... pay attention in school or work, get up early, do excersices, eat better, anything really.. even be more positive about yourself and increase self esteem.

If you want to get more intense about it, you can record yourself on a tape and sleep while listening to yourself repeat things that you'd like to change about yourself.
