...unfortunately, she's dead.

My sympathy goes out to the family.

In other news, the daughter of a friend of mine asked her "Mommy, why are all missing children blone white girls?"

Things that make you go "hmm"...

I think some research would show that many of the missing children are other races and many are boys. For some reason the blond white girls get most of the press. Hmm...

Aha, THAT'S what that thread was called. I searched for it, but couldn't remember the title and didn't see it on the first page.

I seen this on msn as i logged on, it was on the front page! We haven't heard about it here though, because it's in the US!

Poor girl, i hope she can finally be at rest now.

It hits home with me on several levels. #1. I had a student named Carly B. a sixth grader. She was already into drinking and carousing at that age. She loved me and I miss her alot. I tried to be her friend and support her, but after I left New Orleans, the letters she wrote were increasingly sad and doing things she shouldn't have. By this time she was in high school. I felt like I failed her.
#2. I think my grandfather stole me once. I just remember him getting me after school and making me stay in the floorboard of his truck on the hour trip to his house.
Later while making me "bath" him, my Uncle came in and I think called my dad, because about an hour after that my grandfather made me get in the closet and hide from my dad. My dad got me out of the closet and sent me to the car and I don't remember anything after that.
This was the late 50's and you have to remember "good" families didn't air this type of things, but we moved out of state shortly after that.
It wasn't the first time my GF had done something to me. He had for years, but he'd never stolen me before.
What was he going to do with me if my dad hadn't come to get me.??? I don't really think I was in mortal danger like poor little Carlie, but this whole thing is very painful for me. As it is for everyone of us. Please don't think that I am trying to say that this is more to me than other people, just saying why it is painful for me.
Goddess be with the family and with the child.
