I actually got this forwarded to me from a friend a few months back.
I left out the third pic because...well...basically it was a pic of a hiker who was found torn apart from the waist down by this bear. (down to the bone)
Read the text before clicking on the pics.
(edited to add I am against bear hunting)

Poor bear. He was just hungry.
Not to be disrespectful to the hiker who was killed, but I always feel sorry for the animal who gets killed for doing what comes naturally.

Holy Shyte!!!!! I have seen my fair share of bears and hunted a few. I even almost had a bear for a pet. But I have NEVER seen one that large. I think I would have had heart failure if I would have seen it.!!!

The man was also doing what came naturally - defending himself from a giant predator.
I can't believe the hiker was carrying something like a .38. .38s have trouble stopping human beings, never mind a bear weighing over 3/4 of a ton. For that matter, 7mm Magnum is pretty light for grizzleys. Basically, if you don't hit the bear in the brain with something big, you just piss 'em off.

Here's what snopes had to say. be advised: they DO have the picture of the dead man, but they also have something interesting to say about him.

Sweet Mary Mother of God that is a big bear. My husband, who is 6'3", just put it in perspective: he said "So two of me would still only be at the bear's shoulder?" Eeep.

Thats huge. I'm against animals being killed because they kill people. Its natural to them, we are just another food source. And when we are in their terrirtory its fair game. I never really feel bad for anyone who gets killed by a wild animal because they go into their territory and they should know the risks. However Im not upset with this guy for killing the bear. He was defending himself and I would have done same. Its another thing when an animal kills someone and a bunch of morons with guns go out looking for that animal to kill it just for reason it killed a human, thats what I dont like.

well, 500 lbs is quite large for a black bear, just as 1600 lbs is big for a brownie.

You know, I've always wondered what the proper plural of that would be. Bigfoots? Bigfeet? Sasquatches is a bit awkward. I'll have to remember to ask an english teacher.
