we have this little struggling garden out in our backyard...

we can't grow food in it (contaminants in the soil from this parking lot for busses behind it), but i can grow flowers....

i made this page for my family in arizona to see... it has some pictures on it... that i took of the flowers in our garden...

thought i'd share it with you

Your flowers are absolutely beautiful! I have a bunch of herbs and morning glories, but they have yet to bloom. I wish I had the time and space to do more. Thanks for sharing! :)

you know, if you ever have a mind to grow herbs or veggies, you might try buying some potting soil and a very large plant pot or even several and grow things in there and keep them on a porch or even over by the rest of your garden. We have to do that and keep them on our porch because if we don't we have the problem of the deer getting into our yard (despite the fence) and eating our produce before we do. I would suppose that the method would work just as well as a replacement for contaminated soil.

Beautiful flowers;

My garden is in stages of deconstruction and reconstruction! It's so depressing!

If you like growing morning glories you can harvest the seeds from the plants you planted and they will be just as good as any you buy.

I planted a bunch of blue ones with the purple pink ones one year and I got every shade in between pluss the parent colors the next year from the seed I collected. Also I noted that when it got cooler a few plants started producing white flowers so I made sure I coolected that seed too (i got white ones next spring)! It only works though a few seasons than you just get pink/purple. I coolected so much seed one year i had to give it away as Yule gifts. I didn't replant them this year though...so I just have a few volunteers.

Love Pele (h)

thanks again for all the nice things you've all said.

Well.. we have two HUGE containers of wild flower seeds.. and the morning glories were there before we moved in... we have some kind of mutant ones in the back.. they have yet to bloom.. but the leaves are like 10 times bigger than they should be....

thanks for the tips
