Inspired by this thead (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=43378), where I remarked about my associations with purple and my sensitivity to colours, I decided to have a colour association thread. (I spelt it “color” in the title without the British u for the sake of future searching. Ain’t I nice? :D)

Red: anger, violence.
Orange: battle, challenge, struggle.
Yellow: heat, desert.
Green: pleasure, happiness, growth.
Blue: majesty, glory.
Cyan (that’s #00FFFF): carefreeness, floating.
Purple: sadness, weeping.
Pink: women, dolls, playfulness.
Brown: earth, growth.
Black: loss, emptiness, death.
White: purity, light, life, birth.

Red Fire element, energy, passion, love, power, courage, protection, passion, enthusiasm.

Blue Water element, peace, joy, truthfulness, healing, meditation, tranquility, forgiveness, patience, sleep, dream work.

Green Earth element, healing, money, prosperity, hope, growth, luck, fertility, beauty, employment.

Yellow Fire element (dark yellow), Air element (pale yellow), leadership, learning, communication, creativity, productivity, health, blessing, solar magick.

Sorry, I replied at the same time as you did....and did not get a chance to read what you had to say.
I pretty much agree with the list that I just sent you. I am not trying to be stubburn....just some things make sense to me....and the color associations that I just posted....make alot of sense.

Well I'm game Heathen Dawn. Doesn't look like you got too many responses. And I would definitely agree that personal associations mean much more than traditional associations. Some colors just rub people the wrong way. I know I can't stand the color white. It's nice as an accent, but in general the color just feels cold and sterile to me. I go nuts if I'm in a white room. But in general my associations are mix of the traditional correspondences as well as intuitive ones.

Red: Passion, Excitement, Desire, Lust, Strength, Power, Authority, Anger, Control, Hunger
Orange: Stimulation, Vibrancy, Energy, Joy, Fun, Courage, Attraction, Change
Yellow: Life, Energy, Warmth, Clarity, Spontaneity, Movement, Happiness, Friendship
Green: Growth, Life, Fertility, Prosperity, Increase, Gain, Wants, Fresh Start, Rebirth, Luck, Healing
Blue: Calm, Peace, Tranquility, Emotions, Tolerance, Acceptance, Comfort, Home, Protection
