View Full Version : I got another shiver

so ever since I can remember I've gotten these shivers around certain people at certain times. It's not a a change in temperature that only I can feel or anything like that. I just get this one violent shiver when standing near the person. And it's a shiver that I can differentiate between a regular everyday "I'm chilly" kind of shiver and the "HEY" kind. It usually to serves as a warning to me about the person I'm feeling the shiver for or as a warning for the person.

I only just started paying attention to the meaning behind them a few years ago and I know I have a long way to go as to figuring it all out.

The thing that got me last night was that it was for a little girl. Counldn't've been more than 6 or 7. I've never gotten a shiver for a child. Never. I didn't know what to do. There was a split second where I felt I needed to warn the father. Maybe she was ill and they just weren't aware of it. Then another thought pops in to my mind; maybe she's crying out because her father hurts her.

I was going Nuts! I felt I had to help and I didn't know how. I kept turning around to look at the girl and trying to decide what to do until she was gone.

MoonDust = Frustrated.

Thoughts?

Maybe your instinct is picking up things from the turmoil of energetic influence. Someone who experiences a strong emotion, will send a powerful spiritual message into the world. Those close enough and open enough, will be influenced by that message. It might be, you picked up something like that.

Exactly what Xentor said, some people are extremley sensitive to vibes that other people give off, which will also make you sensitive to spirits close by.
I would appreciate it as a gift :) And it is just your instincts picking up on something good or bad that the person is letting off without knowing.

oh, I apreciate the gift I was given. I just wish I could interpret it better. I love my gift I can tell the second I meet a person good to be around/not so good to be around. I should've stasrted paying attention to it sooner than I did, but well it helped me listen to it.

If I get that sense of urgency that I felt lastnight, then I think I should also get the knowledge on how to help. I know I will eventually, but I'm impatient! :D

I can't really give any big advice on the expeirence with the little girl, i suppose the most advice i can give is to learn more about your gift, and so you can identify what shivers mean which, make sence? Try reading up on these types of things :) Meditation may even help.

I have had this happen too. Also, right before I encounter a car accident or something quite a few times... I also had one 30 minutes before a pretty big earthquake we had..

I definitely get those, too. Sometimes we'll pass a car and I'll start shivering violently for a second or two. I try not to read too much into them, because I figure I've already been told as much as I need to know about it...

This sounds to me as if you are manifesting an empathic gift and it comes by in this manner. Please do not feel frustrated it is a natural thing. As for understanding it, prehaps it is not to be understood. Learn to sheild and to meditate for your centre. You are picking up vibrations of others and so must be empathic. Also I have found that if I track anything odd happening to me due to my empathics, I feel less afraid and able to make some sense out of it. Eventually you will grow into your gift and feel more comfortable.

I always saw my Shivers as warnings. never though it could be an empath gift. I mean I know I feel to some degree others pain and joy, but I just figure I'm sensitive.
Makes sense though. Thanks for giving me something to think about! :D

I never knew such things happened to anyone else! Everyone I have spoken too about these strange ‘shivers’ thought I was a little off the wall. Thank you MoonDust for posting this thread, and all those who responded! It does explain a lot.
In addition, has anyone noticed a correlation between the shivers and metal? I’m constantly effecting metal, most commonly in technology -it just goes crazy when I’m around. For example once I melted a metal pot on the stove whilst boiling water. There was liquid metal everywhere! Most other occurrences involved technology breaking down or turning on and off?- Has anyone else noticed these things in relation to the shivers?

nice to know one isn't alone.

Sounds like you might be stronger than I. I've never had that affect on metal. I tend to break things, but that the Taurean in me :D regular bull.
