Well I think I'm going to have a cold shower (I'd go jump in the pool, but as my 6 weeks isn't up with my healing nipple ring I can't very well)

And who knows, my sister's washing her car, might go jump under it ... oh just for interests sake it's somewhere around the mid thirty's Celcius ... at one point we were at or neared 40 degrees Celcius.

I know EXACTLY how you feel, RubyRose. I live in this scorcher of a city as well, and I'm DIEING. I am living in my pool, and thanking the gods for the beauty that is AIRCONDITIONING!

Did you hear it didn't go below 30 till 5:00 AM this morning, and then only to a minimum of 28?

It felt like more than 40 today. I could have sworn it was at least 42. And hows about this thunder storm. Its worse, coz the heat can't escape through the atmosphere, its being held in.

Anyway, going back to the pool now..... roll on WINTER!!! :smoke:

I have yet to take off my coat! Underneath is a turtleneck then a sweater, and it's snowing outside. I vote we go visit our friends in Oz :)

Well, I hate Western Power.

The IDIOTS couldn't figure out that maybe a lot of people will use air-conditioning in record humidity and 40 degree weather, and today they threatened $1000 fines, yes, that was $1000, for residential buildings using airconditioning, and $10 000 fines, say it like you mean it $10 000, for businesses using aircon, for fear of power black outs.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!

So we sat and sweltered in not only un-airconditioned rooms, but rooms without fans on, because Western Power banned airconditiong and use of un-essential electricity! You would think, wouldn't you, that it is logical that a lot of electricity is going to be used in a tropical heatwave?!?!?!?!

It scares me that a corporation can hold an entire city in their power, and threaten such huge fines, simply because of their own incompetence!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't mind hot weather if we were allowed even fans, or even if it were not so HUMID!!!!!!!! :strike:

Sorry, rant over. I think that the heat has frazzled my brain.

Please, take as much heat as you want! As long as we can have some COLD!!!!!

Oh Gods, us too...I'm in Brisbane. We've got it too...I can barely *move*...I've just got sweat dripping off me, and there's no let-up.
I think that's the worst bit...it just doesn't get cooler...you can't look forward to it getting better in the evening...it's still just as hot, and it's damn near impossible to sleep when you're so sweaty you stick to your sheets...
It gets so hot here sometimes, I feel physically ill....
I'll stop whinging now. But the offer always stands for a swap of seasons with one of you "snowy winter zero degrees" people...:damncold:

I kept my aircon on today - my 8 year old daughter is home sick with chickenpox, and she is sore and uncomfortable, so as far as I am concerned, the aircon WAS an essential item today - I pay for the electricity so I am going to use it, and Western Power can get stuffed!!

Send some of that heat over here! I'm wearing two sweaters in my own house to keep warm!

Honestly, I'm going to try sending heat to anyone who wants it. I can't win here. It's 35+ outside (and tomorrow we're being told it'll be even hotter) and yet, I freeze my butt off in my own office because my boss and the other guy in here have the aircon on so fricken low that I think I'm getting a cold from all the temperature changes.

And Rhiara, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! I can't believe that! Come over to Sydney and you can have my office. I can guarantee you won't be sweating anymore! :T
