Ok now..I know this might strike you all as odd. But...I've heard of several couples who were working on conceiving a child, by following the ovulation schedules, etc. The only difference with them, and other couples...is that they would skip many months of .."trying" because they were trying to avoid conceiving a child during certain months, because they didn't want the child to be born under a certain birth sighn!! (I think one of them was Scorpio)....I thought it was an amusing story...and then...i just started to wonder how common that is in the pagan/new age community..anyone else run across this???

As much as we would like to concieve again I can't imagine that anything would make us skip any availiable opportuniy! Uh...well you know what I mean.

LOL...I know EXACTLY what you mean! LOL

I'm just thankful that I'm past the time when I could have conceived a TAURUS child, this year. LOL. No..really..I'd be happy with conceiving a child ANY time of year. But...if I had my choice, it wouldn't be a Taurus. LOL. My hubby is Taurus, I'm a gemini...and I dont' want to be outnumbered by bulls in my house! LOL.

Hubby's Mom has also told me horror stories about him as a child. He was a child who was SOOO stubborne, he'd throw himself into walls, dislocating his shoulder on a regular basis..Just to avoid bed-time.

Goddess Spare me! LOL

The only thing I feel about timing is that I don't want to be very pregnant in the summer. I hate the summer's heat as it is; it makes me nauseous and uncomfortable and you're most likely to find me beside a fan or A/C between June and August, so I hope I won't be pregnant at this time.

But of course, were it to happen then that's the way it should be. I'd just never leave my fan :)

Hmmm... Well, if I were planning the time, I would try to avoid another fall baby because my depression is the worst in the fall. Couple that with PPD, and I become a real monster! I wouldn't avoid it if I was having trouble conceiving and that time of the year came around, though.

Hey! I'm a Taurus and I resemble that remark! :D
My mother had to put up with me and one of my older brothers. We are 1 year 11 days apart. Somehow she survived. And that same brother married a woman with two kids from a previous marriage, both kids are Taurus born. Calm household - NOT!

One of my friends is currently pregnant, after much trying and doctor visits, and is praying the kid isn't born a Leo. Her husband is a Leo and one is enough for her. By the way, her due date is July 30 but he doctor says she can go at any time now.

Oi vey. It makes me chuckle, a lot of people who have never been here are convinced it snows all year. And yes, our winters are LOOOOONG and COLD but when the summer comes boy is it ever summer. I could easily spend June and July in front of my fan every minute of the day (we haven't gotten an AC yet). I just know if I am heavily pregnant in the summer NO ONE is going to want to talk to me ;)

We have been trying for four years to have a child. I can't imagine skipping a month for any reason. I pray all the time that I will be gifted with a child and each month I nearly cry when I find that once again it hasn't happened. To all of you with children... remember to be thankful! (Even during the rough times)

Wow. I never once thought about when the baby would be born when I conceived. My first 2 gave us a well rounded family of 4 where each element was represented. My second 2 were fire signs for a total of 3 of us doing the fire thang now. We're fire heavy, but happy as can be. :)

Yeah it's kind of surprising to me how casual people can be about having a child. Oh I don't blame them, I'm just thinking of people who are like "oh we plan to have a baby in this many months and get pregnant in that season" and can just casually assume that plan will work out perfectly. It always gives me a pause because I mean, I might never be able to carry another pregnancy to term, even if I get pregnant I'll be paranoid about miscarrying again, so I just don't think the way some do. It's a luxury I don't have, kwim?

My husband and I planned Cameron to be born in the Spring/Summer, simply so I wouldn't have another pregnancy through the summer.

(btw the request is in to have this thread moved to F&P)

Edit...and yes, we were lucky in that we knew we would be pregnant fairly quickly, and could plan that way.

I tried for a particular time of the year, for Scorpios as it happened, 1st baby missed by a matter of hours, second nailed it dead on. third time missed by 3 months(later than I wanted but still Very welcome.)

This is weird, this thread from the dawn of time....But anyway, one of my favorite saying is: man plans, god laughs.

I would more try to plan NOT to be pregnant at certain times, like summer, which I've heard is horrid.

But it would be kinda cute to try to plan a baby for a certain astrological sign. Though it's kind of a pagan way of manipulation. Kinda like using futuristic eugenics to pick your kid's hair colour. Only without the breaking of nature.

I dunno about because of birth signs, but I will tell you I'm not having sex in April anymore. Tana's bday is Jan 10th, Kit's bday is Jan 16th....and my niece' bday is Jan 2nd

I had Toria on August 10th and didnt plan it at all. Although I wouldnt plan 2 female Leo's or being pregnant in the summer I kinda think being prego in the summer might be semi easier since you can wear less clothes and lay in a pool to ease the weight of the baby.

 This is what we said when we found out I was pregnant with Lilia. (she was "due" Jan 6th.)

Instead, I have our third child due in October, so I will have two October bubs...

We're expecting a little Pisces now... which is fine, and we were far more interested in just having him rather than worrying about what sign he would be born under. That being said- I'd prefer not to have another Capricorn. DH is a Capricorn with Cap rising, and I don't know how I could handle having two in the house.

Yeah I have my Pisces. I'm a Capricorn and DH is Aquarius, so we're three in a row (Capricorn/Aquarius/Pisces right after the other in the chart)

dd is a libra, but this bean is due on the cusp, virgo or libra. dh is aquarius and i'm a cancer....

We actually started trying right after my short term disability was signed so that we didn't have "a pre-existing condition" when signing the papers. the "plan" was that the baby had to be here by Dec 15th in order to claim the short term dis. that we are paying for, so we got busy. both babies were conceived end of dec/early jan. the comments my friends make is that there must be a let down after c-mas and that its cold in early January!

i would have rather not been preg through the summer again, but i'm at a desk job now, so its not as bad as with dd1 when i was out and about all summer. I would have liked to have a baby April/May/June time but it didn't line up with the disability stuff...we'd have to pay 2 years to get coverage vs the 1 year.

yeah, we overplan.....but we had to.

We originally hoped for a Fire Sign baby. And Scarlet WAS SUPPOSED to be a Fire Sign.. But the Lady decided to lounge around longer in my belly.. 8 days longer in the middle of August...

Ahem.

With the next one, I am just trying to AVOID being hugely pregnant in the middle of Summer.
So we will begin TTC for #2 this upcoming August, so I am pregnant throughout most of Winter. A Spring baby sounds nice :D

Being pregnant in the summer was not fun, that's for sure. But trying to carry an infant on the ice was pretty scary - I slipped on a set of cement steps and fell about 4 steps. Somehow I managed to cradle the baby and she was fine, but I sure sprained my ankle. I would have been scared of falling on ice while I pregnant too.
