Hi,
My son has been showing a lot of the symptoms for depression lately. He's 8.5 and has always been a unique child.

I'm terrible at these chart things and wondered if someone could look at his and give me some insight into how to make things better for him.

His dob info is: 4/29/95 at 11:43 am in Durham, NC

Thank you!!

his Sun, Moon and Mercury are in Taurus,

Neptune Opposition Ascendant

Neptune opposition the Ascendant shows that you are greatly influenced by the people with whom you associate.

Your opinions of the people you deal with are too idealistic, and you are hurt when they disappoint you.

I think Dr Rosengarten's book would help alot, "Tarot and Psychology"
its an amazeing book, I have it!

Those explanations are him to a tee! He does explain how things work step by step, loves to be all comfy-cozy, and is always the leader on our walks.

I can only imagine that with so much Earth from Taurus, that he needs some fire or something.

I think that b/c he's so different from the other boys his age, that it's starting to really make him feel odd. He's not into sports, he's not into bionicles, he's just having a hard time finding what he likes. His best friend is a girl, and I think he gets picked on for that. He has a slight build and doesn't play rough, so at recess I can imagine that he doesn't get picked for the teams.

well, is he into music, art, or computers at all?

if you look at statistics, alot of odd children turn out to be very well known contributors to society...

I tell him that all the time, it's usually a blessing to be odd!

And yes, he's a very gifted artist...I'm trying to find a local camp for him to attend this summer. His teachers have always made a big fuss over his work at school. He doesn't play video games, but does like computer games. I'm encouraging him to take piano, but that's a battle right now. But when he bangs around on it, he makes such nice music.

Check out his transits, look at what T Pluto is doing, it's making a nasty tight quare to N Saturn. T Pluto in the 5th, in Sagittarius, squaring Saturn in Pisces in the 9th....this transit lasts quite a long time and invaribly causes depression in anyone.

Good thing it involves the mutable signs, his mood will be up and down. Since the sixth house is involved, watch out for his health, even though he is young. Uranus looks okay, nice grand rectangle there. Jupiter in Saggitarius in the 7th, he will like being different the older he gets, probably better at individual sports. Friends will probably be weirder than him (Uranus in Aquarius in 5th). Loose grand trine in fire, he needs to be aware of his innate creativity.

Should be an excellent student, Sun/Moon conjunction in Taurus in the 10th. Moon rising, sensitivity, self-defensive coping mechanisms. Jupiter trined by Venus and Mars, adapatbility. Strong constituition, fixed sun in an angular house.

T-Pluto square Saturn is always rough, there is heavy fire (Mars in Leo) that can counter the depression. Fire/earth dominates, fixed/mutable, he may need help starting things, but has the ability to stick to a course and still be flexible. He may not be aware of the creative potential, just assume everyone's like that, comes to him that easily.

I agree with both Xander and Moon in Libra's viewpoints here... he's having a heavy time with some of these transits... But don't worry about his lack of fire! He /almost/ has a grand trine in it! (Although if you count the MC, he does...) He's got Venus and the Midheaven in Aries, Mars in Leo, and Jupiter in Sagittarius... Jupiter is strong being in the sign it rules and being in the 5th could suggest a lot of creative talent. Pluto not too far away suggests that art could be very healing for him emotionally, and he may feel it easier than talking about his feelings as Mercury the planet of communication is opposing Pluto. Talking about it is probably the last thing he wants to do, or even if he does, he may not be able to put his turbulent emotions into words. And so a creative outlet is very beneficial to his well-being... but it has to be one of his own choosing. You don't say specifically which area of the arts he is best at, but with his planets strong in earth and fire, pushing him into any one area will probably meet with a lot of stubborness. Your best bet is to surround him with choices and let him pick what he wants to focus on. Even though you only have his best interests are heart, unless he himself makes the decision, he will probably feel coerced even when you're not trying to. :) It's quite possible that some of his tension stems from unsettling current events in the world... he may hear things a school or on the news that deeply trouble him, and with so many planets in Taurus, security is a big deal to him. Camp probably isn't a good idea unless he himself wants very passionately to go. Changes can feel very unsettling to him right now, even if it comes based on the idea of doing something fun. The flip side is that change is very beneficial to him, but he rebells against it unless he feels it was "his idea". :) It's great that you encourage him to be himself... as Moon in Libra says he'll probably learn to appreciate his own uniqueness the older he gets. :)

Thanks, Kadynas and moon-in-libra! :)

I suppose part of his moodiness could come from me being unhappy as well, since you mentioned security issues regarding world events. I try not to let it show, but maybe he's on to me.

He's an excellent drawer and writer....he won the best writer award a few weeks ago for his class. I'm off to learn more about trines.....I really know hardly anything about astrology!

Thanks for your input :colorful:
