This is so fun! Every year, the Westerly, RI Morris Men hike up Lantern Hill in Ledyard, CT on the morning of the Spring Equinox, and dance the sun up. It is *right* by Foxwoods casino, easy to find if you've ever been there.

It’s going to be happening March 20th, a Saturday, this year.
They say to get there around 5am, that the sunrise is due to happen at 5:50. It can be a tough hike (for me anyways..), and it’s been pretty freaking cold the last couple of years up there. Totally worth it though. :D Shoes with traction are good to have, there are a few steep spots and some slickrock on the trail, and the leaves and loose stone can make things interesting. I think there’s a back trail that takes longer to get up, but it’s supposed to be more level. The Morris Men’s website says that when the Equinox happens on the weekend (like this year), there can be up to 150 people showing up so getting there early is a good thing...
