Pagan Conference - What do I wear? :-o

I'm going to this (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?p=753977#post753977) Pagan conference in April. I have never been to such a thing. In fact, I have never been to any conferences at all, much less a Pagan one.

I have no clue what's expected of me. What to wear is perhaps my smallest problem right now, but it's a start. I'm not vain, but jeans, sneakers, and a sweater somehow feels wrong. I'm so sure everyone else will wear, I don't know, long dresses, nature materials, etc. (prejudice, I know!).

Help! Advice! Something... Anything! Anyone who's been at Pagan meet-ups and conferences - what was it like?

Clothing. It's a good idea. Unless someone's scheduled a skyclad ritual.

Really, you don't have to worry. Oh, you'll get your Stevie Nicks lookalikes in flowing chiffon, the robes, the whole bit--but the majority aren't out there screaming "Pagan! Pagan!" in terms of fashion. Jeans, T-shirts... get a little formal if you want, but don't panic. People wear what they want. I have been to one of these--it was delightful in the way people came dressed as themselves. :)

how about a nice pant suit. You look good and feel comfy. Its dressed up without being to dressed up.

yeah... all the pagans i've met have looked decidedly... normal. jeans, tshirts, maybe a pentacle or two, but mostly just... normal. don't worry about it, just wear something you're comfortable in, don't try to dress for other people, dress for yourself. because it sucks meeting new people and not feeling like you're real and you're you, just makes you wonder, what was i thinking, i can't pull this off...

See if they have any pics of previous conventions and observe how people dress. If its all very formal, then go with something a little nice. I personally would show up to a State Dinner at the White House in jeans and a tshirt so Im probably not the best person to take fasion advice from

Just be yourself. I'd do jeans and tennis shoes myself, but that's who I really am. Take something nice, though if they have a formal "gathering'. How long is this conference? Do tell more!

After reading this thread, I think I'll go for the just-me-style (jeans, sneakers, sweater (I'll try to find a somewhat neutral one ;))).
