Here is a meditation to help in remembering your dreams...
Its helpful to do this right before you go to bed as an aid to remember future dreams, or when you first wake up, to remember dreams that you had previously.
Sit with your legs crossed, hands resting comfortably on your knees, palms up. (You can use whatever position is most comfortable for you - this is just what I use)
Breathe in and out slowly, and count to 10, relaxing a little more with each breath. Breathe out negative or cluttered thoughts, breathe in free space, openness.
Visualize a wall of clouds in the distance, and imagine yourself floating towards these clouds. (in the sky)
Imagine coming into these clouds, and staying within... remember textures, tastes, scents from these clouds. These clouds are your collective subconscious, and a place you can journey to remember things that are out of focus, or just out of your grasp. (such as dreams)
Now, come down out of the clouds, slowly, to rest with your feet upon the ground. In your minds eye, bring your hands in front of you. Visualize the collective thoughts coming into a funnel, into the palm of your hand, and forming a ball. This ball contains your thoughts and dreams. Store this ball in a box/jar/container, and label it in your mind, so that you can come back to it later.
Open your eyes, bring your hands down to the floor to ground yourself.
(You may want to do other things to ground yourself... as always with meditation or an altered state of mind - make sure that you are fully aware of yourself again before doing anything!)
I use this as an aid to help me remember dreams... or things that are just out of reach of my conscious mind. I "store" these thoughts and dreams so that I may "find" them again later.
Blessings,
Kalika
