Does anyone have any information on the Gypsies in Europe? Its always been a sort of family myth that alot of our family came from gypsy stock, but one of my relatives actually found out that its true and so my curiosity has been aroused. I can find a handfull of information at best on the internet and the local library has NOTHING. The bookstores have STORIES, but im looking for INFORMATION.

*points to the Similar Threads box below*

Some of those look reasonably helpful.

I know there are a few people of Romany descent here on MW. Perhaps you could do a search or two? I'm sure there are a few more threads under that name in addition to the ones calling them Gypsies.

Try doing more internet/library search using the term "Romani" and/or "Roma".

these are links that I have for recreationists... to create accurate personas, specifically the SCA.

Do a web search for romani, romany, roma these should each bring up different things. There are also different names for the romani people in different areas but these are a good place to start. If anyone has any specific questions, let me know a good friend is Romena, and was raised in the old ways.
