I just heard that temperatures are supposed to be in the upper fifties here in Ohio this weekend, and even though winter is my favorite season,it got me excited about the coming season.
I am looking forward to driving with my windows all the way down, playing frisbee with Dorothy (one of my pups), and to the smell of thunderstorms. Oh, and to getting rid of this cold that I have had for about two months.
So what are the things that you can't wait to do once it warms up a bit?

Here, It is likely to get near 40 by the weekend. The banks on either side of my drive are 6 foot tall and you can almost smell the buds on the trees swelling with all this much needed water!
Number one on my list is definately open windows..All of them all the way up, being barefoot in public again, playing in puddles with my little ones. (my youngest has just reached the prime puddle jumping stage.
Ive started a few weeks ago to ordering seeds, and making starters off of house plants.
In short, I am looking forward to every breeze, smell and action associated with comming season! I do love the winter, its the only time when life quiets enough to look inside, but frankly Ive had all of myself that I can take and am ready for the distractions that come with spring.

I can't wait to start gardening. We just got our seed order from Gurney's *shameless promotion* yesterday. I've always grown veggies, but this year I'm trying my hand at flowers too. Wish me luck! :fpeace:

i'm really looking forward to the snow melting away so i don't have to peek over 20 foot snow drifts before crossing roads ;)
also looking forward to walking outside in tshirts (and not having to spend 20 minutes getting the kiddos in their winter gear in order to go anywhere)... and the WARM sun... and the green grass... right now i'm even looking forward to the buzzing of bees and i'm *terrified* of any flying stinging insects... so this is a definite sign i'm ready for the winter to be over!!

I can't wait to sit outside and drink a few beers with my friends. I can't wait to start barbequeing. Although winter is definitely my favorite season, I can't wait to drive around for no reason, with no destination, with the windows down. I can't wait to go get slushies from Dairy Queen (and eat them without feeling hypothermic). I can't wait to have the windows open in this old house and let the breeze blow through. I can't wait to sleep with my windows open. I can't wait to ride on my dad's motorcycle down the "Great River Road" (its actually called that - in Alton, Illinois - very scenic). Go to the loading dock and chill... I can't wait to walk to class without every bone in my body shivering from the bitter wind that eats through my clothes like moths...

Ambermystique, your summers sound awesome. Can I come hang with you? I'll bring the potato salad and the brew, you be the grill master.

I can't wait to go back to the bird sanctuary that is my home away from home. Drive around at night with the windows down...I love summer night air. And I admit, I have been looking very wistfully through the garden catalogues that are now gracing my mailbox.

It's supposed to be in the 70's here next week. Its wonderful because the humidity is low, and the air is crisp and clean, and the sun warms your face. I can't wait to get back in my pool. I plan on spending the entire summer just floating.

It's supposed to be in the 70's this weekend here too. I can't wait to plant my garden and redo my front flowerbed. And going to the beach...and beerbequing (that's right--I said beer). And swimming lessons for the girls....

I most look forward to the fresh smell of spring showers, the tons of cherry, apple and plum blossums around here, sitting out in the sun, thundershowers, opening up the house, and planting my little tiny garden.

Let's see--the food is what draws me, lol. Summer and Spring fruits (where the HECK are the cherries already? We've none yet--and it's waaayy past time! Harumph!), bbqs, long nights and even longer sunsets. Water sports. A cool beer in the hot sunshine. Homemade ice cream (yes, we do that in So Cal--my forbears are from Missouri (that's pronounced Mi-zur-ah) afterall!). Homemade salsa and blendersful of margaritas.
Swim, surf, fun! Course, living in SD, I have a lot of this more than just once May and June hit, but the gray, cold and wet days we've been having lately are making me pine.
(Just need to lose a few pounds soon so I'll actually want to be in a bathing suit this year!:spaceman: )
