View Full Version : At The Risk of Sounding like the Craziest MWicker Ever...

Ok, if you guys never EVER want to speak to me again after reading this post - I'll understand LOL cause I KNOW this will sound crazy:

I've noticed some interesting things in Madonna's video for "Frozen". Now I know theres probably some people out there who dont really like Madonna, so if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it at all...

I've noticed some symbolism in this specific video for Goddess symbols (specifically The Morrigan or any dark Goddess):

~ Madonna is in 3's a lot in this video.
~ She shape shifts into a flock of crows, as well as into a beautiful black dog.
~ She appears as some sort of shadowy woman figure floating in the air at one point of the video (which at least to me - The Morrigan has appeared in this way, and I've heard from others to have seen her this way as well).
~ Towards the end of the video, she's in 3, and the 3 Madonna's sit in the Triple Goddess position -
)0(
Meaning: There is one Madonna facing the front, sitting in the middle. theres another Madonna sitting on her right facing that side, and a third Madonna sitting left to the center Madonna facing that side.
~ At one point in the video, theres dark, thick fluid floating from the earth into Madonna's hands.
~ She appears to be set in sort of a desert which seems like a sort of a field that resembles a battle field and reminds (at least myself) of death.
~ She's dressed in black robes/dress, and has long black flowy hair (I've heard several "children of Morrigan" that they have seen her this way in visions they've had).

I've talked to a few Pagan friends of mine, and they said that theyre assuming its not a coincidence because she is spiritual and studied a lot of Eastern Religions & Spirituality, as well as Goddess religions...

What do you guys think?

Very interesting! I personally haven't seen the video yet, but I'll look for it and the symbols you mentioned.

(And btw, if thinking this makes you crazy, then you should send the guys with the nice white jackets to my house... )

there is nothing abnormal about being able to read symbols... it is why they are used :)

I think it has something to do with the universal language of the Psyche, or the Archetypes used by the higher self... :)

Yes, I think the symbols are probably intentional. "Frozen" came out around the same time as Madonna's much-publicized interest in Kabbalah, and her bizarre fake English accent.

So I think it's safe to say that Madonna pooled together some symbols from the faith traditions she was studying, and stuck them in her video. (Whether she understands them is another matter.)

I don't think you're crazy at all. As your friends have said, she has studied some aspects of the occult and they may have permeated her work...I haven't seen the video, so I don't want to comment further...

I thought madonnas interest in Kabbalah didn't come until recently. Frozen was a like mid 90's release... I dunno, i could be totally off my rocker... But madonna isn't stupid... If you saw the symbolism... then it was intentional! Just way to go on picking up on that! :D i haven't seen that video in a long time! now i wish i had

I've gone to one of Rabbi Fund's Qaballa classes, I went to one a few years ago in the village, a beautiful building too... he teaches Jewish Qaballa in the Village, and at the Y all over... :) Id love to start going again..

Madonna actually started getting into Kabbalah & Spirituality & Eastern Religions around when her daughter was born - 1996. And "Ray Of Light" came out in 1998, to which "Frozen" belongs.

Madonna showed up in new york city in the early 80's wearing jeans and a Tshirt.

she got to become a member of society ... Rabbi Fund teaches in NY....

Ive never met her personally, but I have met people who have worked with her...

now, look at Brittney, she shows up with a wardrobe that could feed a homeless shelter in about a week, whereas Madonna had not as much... she has learned alot.. and didnt get where she is today, like brittney did :)

I've seen the video, and I can definitely believe it. It isn't the first time, after all (anybody else remember the "Like a Prayer" video?)

Great points, Morr! I agree with you. Ray of Light is my favorite Madonna album. Love it! Have you seen bits from her new video in which she walks on water? More religious symbolism.

Yep! How could I forget? That's the one that rose such a fuss because Jesus was black and there were crosses burning on a hill! By the way Morr, I was a BIG Madonna fan back in school... :D Haven't really heard most of her more recent stuff... my tastes have changed a little. But I can still sing any song on the "Immaculate Collection" in perfect tune!
