Hiya everyone :) My boyfriend came back from Austrailia the other day and brought me back this lovely Crystal egg which when he bought was told it was for protection. I love it and find it a very powerful crystal ~ it also makes me feel a little sad which is strange, but this is healing sadness for deep emotions I feel.

What I would like help with is determining what type of cyrstal it is? Because I have looked through all my books and can not find a name that fits with its colour ~ It reminds me of Jasper but I have never heard of green jasper before?
It is quite a few shaded of green in little speckles/patches with patches a bright deep blue and a few red in it too. One patch is see through too and this is the part of the crystal that makes me feel sad and look into myself. Does this description ring a bell with anyone? I would really like to find out more about this crsytal :D

Wow!! Yeah it is..but more unusual than any picutre of it I could find!! Thank you soo much :D It all fits into place now :)
I found out that ....
"Agates are the workhorse of the stone world; slow forming, steady and reliable. Agates are like strong medicine. When you need strength, protection, or support, there is surely one agate that does the job right. You can find these in a wide variety of patterns and colors. A family of variegated chalcedony or sard, they show colored bands, spots or markings. Some are striped, some are speckled, some are fossilized and some are solid. For identity purposes, agates are often named for the locales where they are found.

In ancient times, this agate was worn to placate the gods, and to give courage. It will sharpen your sight, help the eyes, illuminate your mind, allow you to be more eloquent and give vitality. It keeps the wearer well-balanced and serious.

Moss Agate is said to promote grace, good health, happiness, intelligence, and longevity. Agates are grounding and gentle and aid truthfulness and memory. Agates are protection stones, stones for courage and acceptance, for overcoming obstacles, for eloquence, for finding treasures and gaining inheritances. Agates give strength, victory and attunement with the earth. Agates sharpen sight, illuminate minds and assist in discovery."

I must say Im not veyr impressed with some of the descriptions here http://www.tfn.net/~ervinj/STONES.HTM ; "Love is in the Earth" by Melody is the recognised authority on crystals and their properties, it is the crystal workers bible (or should I say bos? lol). Id just like to remind everyone that tumbling or piercing the stone can destroy its energy; and although there are lots of powerful tumbelstones out there (my favourite and most powerful is a tiny tumbled citrine) the traumatic proces is very detrimental and they may never recover from it; the weeny little tumbled shreds of crystal that have been threaded to make earings and also those "power bracelets" you find not only have little effect, but it can actually drain your aura to have such distresed crystals in it. Also, with the site I just mentioned, I feel I should say that your birth was such a small moment of your life; concentrate on *now* and the present rather than on that flash when you arrived. After all, we are not slaves to our signs and our soul has its own personality that will survive regardles of what constelation you are born under; choose a crystal becasue you need its properties or are drawn to it, not because its your "star stone". Also, the crystals listed as the birht stone often have similar properties to the charecteriterics (sp) of the sign it is assigned to, and consider; you already *have* those qualities in yourself if you are that sign, just by being born you have gained the traits of the sign. You dont need a crystal to give them to you! Its much better to have crystals to develop the other neglected side of you.. for example, as a Taurus I am *already* loving and apreciative of fine things (lol) so I wouldnt need rose quartz or emerald for that (these are examples, there is not set birth stone some say its diamond rose quartz turqiouse azurite etc...). Instead I should be getting crystals like amythest and lapislazuli to develop the spiritual side of my nature... as it happens I do happen to be very spiritual but that has momre to do with soul age than star sign. Im actually quite fortunate to have the grounding Taurus influence, as I tend to be spiritually ungrounded if it wasnt for my earth element I would probalby be Space Cadet! lol :-) Well, thats elemental and astrological evolution for you.... Anyway I hope someone learnt somehting from this, I dont care what! hehehe :-)
www.astrochart.com free 11 page birth chart and daily/weekly horoscope, i have this; my only complaint is that Im on the Taurus/Gemini cusp I consider myself Taurus (i am more tuarus than gemini) but it insists I am Gemini and my chart/horoscope reflect that. Oh well, maybe the astrologicly less complicated will have more luck? Love and Light, Sighing Softly
