No..the word "tolerant" is not mentioned..but there IS the verse in First Corinthians 13...

"Love is patient, Love is kind, love is not jealous or boastful..."etc...

If God is Love to these folks, how can they not see, that he is also all of these things? Patience, kindness, and non-jealous, hmm...sound like tolerant values to me!

i agree too many of those replys were bordering on if not actually over the line of insanity. the u.r.l. was an "about.com" page, i'm going to look up the actual web site and see what they are about, i did notice several letters praising them as promoting tolerance and damming them in terms all to familiar to us.

For me, that saddest part is that some these so called Christians are exibiting nothing of what Christianity is supposed to embrace. I was brought up as a Roman Catholic and have utmost respect the the Christians on this bd. What the poeple are saying in those comments saddens me that they have not heard the mesage of Christianity. Even though Christianity is not the right religion for me, I did not take away hate and insults and wishing death and ill on others.

I wish people would stop using the words of the bible to express their own hatred.
I feel I should be angry, but instead I have an overwhelming sense of sadness. I really don't want to believe that people who think this way are roaming the streets freely, when I see them as being quite dangerous. All the death threats...These people could be your doctor, your child's teacher, your Aunt Fannie...and they wants us dead, raped by inmates, and in Hell with Hitler...
