Hi all, erm, I'm really not very good at this sort of thing, but here goes;

I'm female, 28 and I've been wandering along this interesting although rather meandering path for just over 3 years now. At the moment it seems to be heading towards Celtic Reconstructionism with Witchcraft as a sort of seperate skill (I'm not sure how much sense that made but it's the closest I can get right now)

I am learning more detail about the Welsh Gods and I feel the most attraction towards Arianrhod, Cerridwen and Llew Llaw Gyffes. I have read the Mabinogion in simplyfied form and plan to read the Charlotte Guest translation as soon as I can. I am also learning Welsh in dribs and drabs although I'm not very good at it yet.

I have a general interest in Crystals and Herbology although due to varying factors I haven't got very far with research on either *blush*

Not really sure what else to say so I think I'll just leave it at

Hello! Have you read Evangeline Walton's literary version of the Mabinogion? She was a wonderful writer.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. It's nice to see so many friendly people :)

p3wicca, hiya we're not that far apart, I'm in lovely sunny Rhyl (the rubbish tip of the N Wales coast :S). I used to hail from Penyffordd though and spent a lot of time sat in the Cross Foxes in Wrexham (ah happy days :D)

Boogins. nope hadn't even heard of that one. It will be added to my wish list asap. *sighs* You know if I ever managed to get hold of all the books I want I'd probably never have the time to read them all. Ah well, roll on winning the lottery lol

I can't believe I missed your introduction! I live in the U.S., but I follow the Welsh Pantheon and would love to visit Wales someday. Glad you found us!

Edited to add: Your best bet for the "Mabinogion" would be translations by either Gantz or Ford. The Guest version is from Victorian times, and leaves out a lot of things she felt were "unseemly" for the times. And I also agree with Boogins, you have to get your hands on the Walton "Mabinogion Tetralogy". One of the most beautiful fiction renderings of myth that I have ever read!
