I've never heard of it. I've been practicing Witchcraft for 11 years now and I think I'm still gonna go check that site out later just to see what its all about. If it is good for you...that's all that matters. :)

Hi and welocme to MW! :)
If you do a search on this site for witchscool.com, there are a bunch of threads that will pop up about it.I joined witchschool--umm-- maybe two years ago to help me get organized in my studies and for that it was very helpful. Just keep an open mind and use as many resources as possible before you make any firm conclusions.

I checked out witch school a while back, but I'm not good with structured learning :).... You can also check www.universalclass.com for classes on tarot, witchcraft, wicca, etc...You can go at your own pace...

Seems okay, and I guess many peeps from here have experience with it. As long as it works for you, that's all that matters. Good luck and Brightest Blessings~! :huddle:

I signed up for Witch School several months ago. The free classes are pretty good, but as has been suggested, remember to check other resources and always question what you read.
Witch School teaches Corellian Wicca, which is a specific Wiccan tradition. It shares some similarities with Gardnerian Wicca, but there are also some big differences. Overall though, I would say that you get what you pay for with the free class -- good information, but not everything you need. I am also not particularly impressed with their "Spell of the Month" and "God of the Month" sections, but that is a personal pet peeve.

I've been signed up at witchschool.com for a VERY long time. I think there are some good things and bad things...turns out the classes I'm most interested in taking are the ones ya gotta pay for, and even if I had a credit card to pay with, I wouldn't have the money and honestly don't really think it'd be worth it unless I was to take ALL the classes in one month.
One of the things I don't like about it is the test part. I was signed up for the class on Gaia and I read maybe 3 pages of it, I went to take the test just to see what it was like and half of the test was questions about the teacher..like what she thought or why she was teaching the class, I mean come on..if I wanted to take a test about her I wouldn't register for a class about Gaia. Come to find out I failed the test(cuz I skipped most of the info about her thinking it wasn't very important) and if you fail the test you are automaticly withdrawn from the class and can't register for it again. They should put a sample test on there somewhere, and shouldnt be testing you on things not really related to the actual class.
For me its hard to sit down and actually do the classes. I, like Faeawyn, am not so great with structured learning. Like I said, I've been signed up with them for a really long time and really one done the Gaia one and started reading a little from the Grimiores class. But I do think that for the right people this would be a great place to go and learn about all this kinda stuff. Good for beginners and ancients(hehe don't get mad old timers :hehehehe: ) so I'd say its a generally good site, just needs a bit of touching up. And definatly check other sources like the others have said. There can be many different beliefs on one subject, and not everything is suited for you.
Good luck with your studies, I hope you find what your looking for-or at least get a good starting point.

I'm a student at witchschool too, I'm on lesson 3 and I'm taking the essay tests. My mentor star, is co-leader of a shrine in Washington DC which is the closest Correllian group near me. I splurged and bought the first degree lessons on CD and they print out much nicer on the CD than they do from the web site. So far I'm happy with the classes, though I can't say much about the organization as a whole as I haven't realy met any of them in person. I'm hoping my mentor can come to my handfasting in October of 2005.

Well...it seems since I originally became a member of witchschool, they've revised quite a few things and added alot of new classes. I just recently completed their Fairy Realms course and really enjoyed it. I'm going to be taking a course on Gaia next and I'll just keep going until I run out of interests

I do not trust online or mailing "witch schools" Im glad you are having a great time with it. To me it seems like they are only money makers and couldnt possibly teach you EVERYTHING there is to know about Witchcraft.
I learn through books my self. Good luck in your witchy courses! :clapping:

I'm sorry but I couldnt help but think along the following lines:
Books are money makers too and just one book isnt going to teach everything. Just like one site cant teach everything. And we all have to make a living too!
You have good books and lousy books and costly books and cheap books...the same with teaching websites.
Both are great tools to help guide.

Well, I don't think any one source can teach you everything about witchcraft. Also, books don't come with mentors you can consult. Witchschool is also more than just a school, it's the seminary of the Correllian Tradition of Wicca. You have the option of joining the Trad if you want, and you can set up Temples if you become clergy. I find the prices reasonable, and with any physical organization there are costs involved. The mother temple just bought it's first pysical building so that they can do more inperson training. Most Temples do inperson training as well.
I would like to see some information on what they do with their money, but for $25/ year I think it's worth it, considering I donate $25/month to the UU I belong to.
Obviously witchschool.com isn't for everyone, but for some of us, it's a good fit.
