Well... Im sitting here at night dricking a coup of tea to make my throat get cleared up so I can talk normal and hope the cold dont stay... And then I came to think *which never is a good sign  * What type of tea do you drink if you drink tea?
Right now Im drinking lemon/apple tea and I think it's the best tea I've had so far...

I don't drink tea, unless it's for medicinal purposes, so I don't really have a "favorite". For clearing up a cold, though, mint tea works well, and I LOVE anise tea on a sore throat.

i dislike tea very very much... i dont even drink it for medicina purposes - no matter how much my throat hurts... i refuse to drink tea... i absoltely hate it... im a coffee girl :)
if it'd be a matter of life or death - I'd probably drink the regular earl gray tea... no sugar!
those fruity type teas make me feel sick... just the smell of them makes my stomach feel "eh"...
So yeah, ya'll should remember that, next time I'm there for a visit

I love all teas.. but if you really want something good for your throat, or a cold, brew up a nice fruit tea and dissolve a cough drop in it! It really helps. :)

I like earl gray or some other 'normal' tea with lemon and honey. I don't put sugar (why use it when you have honey?) or milk (yuck) in my tea.
Hibiscus tea is very good, it's fun to drop in the little petals and watch the water turn all red and sweet tasting.

I love Trader Joe's Masala Tea or Celestial Seasonings Chai tea bags. I let steep 5 minutes, then microwave some soy milk, take three rounded teaspoons of raw sugar, mix and stir. It is a creamy, vanilla-ey, buttery spicy dream :floating:
For breakfast I make morning thunder, a two bags in one cup of Trader Joe's Irish Breakfast. I use the heated soymilk and raw sugar in that, too, it's delicious and filling.
I like Republic of Tea's Blackberry Sage with -- you guessed it -- hot milk and sugar. Yes it is a berry tea, but with milk it tastes like smoothie ;)
I like Stash's Green/White tea in the afternoon, steeped 3 mins, plain :)
I recently became allergic to coffee :( so I can't drink it anymore. I thought I was in trouble, being the caffeine addict that I am, but after I made the switch to tea, I noticed my caffeine "buzz" lasts much longer, I'm less jittery, have a LOT more energy, and... well... I'm less bitchy  A LOT less bitchy! In fact I'd say I'm downright sweet :hehehehe:
Oh, and one more thing? My appetite has gone way down. Yup girls, that's right, since I switched from coffee to tea, I am losing weight ;)

Lipton raspberry or cold brew. I'm not much of a hot tea drinker. But occassionally I'll have hot pepermint tea.

Don't know that I've ever had a tea I didn't like...but if you're asking herbal favorites I'm a mint and chamomile girl (particularly my homegrown chamomile with a little honey... yummm).
Although right now I'm on a kick with this "Tropical mist herbal tea" by Stash that has Hibiscus flowers in it which is pretty tasty.

Tea.....yum. Hot or cold, milk or no milk, it's all good!
Like Mudweed, I have a pantry full of different kinds. I am not really a fan of earl grey, but I do like lady grey, which isn't quite as strong as the earl. For a very delicate flavor, I love Nilgiri tea, which is delicious, and of course the English breakfast tea.
Fruit teas are awesome as iced tea in the summer, but I really only like the backberry hot. The rest don't do hot well.
Chai, also yummy..... :)

I'm a coffee girl, but I do like some teas as well. I like black teas and flavored ones (fruit infusions are fine with me--just bought a blood orange infusion). I also like Jasmine--that is a very nice tea. Can drink that ANY time of the day.
I love darjeeling, earl grey and english breakfast. I can't STAND gunpowder green tea--my hubby drinks pots and pots of it, and it tastes like wet cigarette ashes to me. *blech*
I put milk and sugar in the blacks, and I put honey in some of the herbals (and maybe some lemon if it goes well).
The "chicks" in my fam like to go to tea, and we esp like the ones where you choose from a smorgasbord of tea selections and then get your own pot at your elbow.

I love almost every kind of tea! Red tea, white tea, green tea, black tea, chai, mate, peppermint, ginger, etc. The only kinds I don't like are artificially flavored teas and the fruit flavored ones (they are too acidic).
For all those who haven't tried it I recommend Mate. It makes an excellent coffee substitute, and it will give you more energy than coffee will, without upsetting your stomach. At least in my experience, anyway. :)

but, I keep a pitcher of green tea with honey in the fridge....I love it !!!

Question 1) Is it okay to put milk in Earl Grey tea? It has the oil of burgamot in it, and I'm afraid the milk will curdle. After putting milk and lemon in the same cup years ago and finding the results rather nasty :thumbsdow, I'm now shy about milk. (Steeping time was another thing I had to learn the hard way...I thought I hated tea until I tried it without leaving the bag in the water 10+ minutes... )
Question 2) I hear a lot about lavender tea, but mine always turns out absolutely disgusting. Is there a trick to good, non-bitter lavender tea?
Chai is my favorite low-caffine hot beverage, but the boxed stuff is pricy and not always very good. I make my own using spices bought in bulk. It's a pain in the butt, though, and vanilla beans are still really expensive.

Plantation mint by Bigelow. Nice easy spearmint flavor.

I don't drink herbal teas much, just because i haven't bought them for ages. The last herbal tea i bought was HORRIBLE though!!
I love iced tea (does that count) ... I'm sure a lemon tasting tea would be gorgeous, i love anything lemony
Oh and of course, i drink the good old british tea :)

Whilst I personally think Earl Grey is beyond foul, Ive never known it to curdle. Most people over here drink it with milk as far as I know - its kind of the 'posh' tea over here. The 'standard' tea is English Breakfast tea which is lovely :)
Damn hard finding a GOOD jasmine tea here, though I've discovered a Thai restaraunt which hopefully will be willing to sell me a bag as theirs is LOVELY! lol

Ice tea is great... (I dont think that counts but it ends with tea so I guess you can talk about it here anyway  ) I tasted some when I was in France and it was great...
Now Im sitting here with a new cup and I just feel... as a leaf on the winter... I hate being sick!!

there are herbal teas with a tonic action, meaning they actually increase your appetite (i found it actually works, in combination with exersise in the fresh air. :) ) hehe, i have the same problem you do.
lemon balm, anise, marigold and calamus are some herbs you could try. and since you're in sweden you should be able to get hold of icelandic moss, also meant to be really good for appetite problems.
edited to add: obviously, consult your doc before considering any long-term herbal treatments. the only one i can vouch for to be 100% safe and free of side effects is the lemon balm.

There's a little teahouse in League City that we go to. I have tea and they have lemonade, but it's all in little glass cups and very proper and they really love to do it. Eventually I hope to train them to tea! :)

Hey you lemon and milk users out there, it's one or the other! You can't put citrus and dairy together, the lemon juice will make it will curdle! As for milk being yucky *puts hands on hips* we put milk in coffee? Leaves, beans, it's all the same! :hehehehe:

I work in a cafe, and on Sundays there is a dad who come in and buys a large mug of english breakfast tea. Then he and his daughter break out her little bitty tea set, and they have tea together. I think that is beyond precious! :floating:

Peppermint! Nice and strong so it tingles your tongue! Great for you throat, and with oatmeal cookies dunked in it, or old fashioned graham crackers too. I also like good green tea (the bad stuff is appallingly bad to be sure), and a chai green tea blend I found (just make sure not to over brew that one..very bitter if you do!)..smells like homemade pumpkin pie that one does. Spiced and herbal teas are OK for a change, but I always come back to my peppermint tea.

My favorite teas are Orange Pekoe (with milk), Earl Grey (with milk, doesn't curdle), and Tim Horton's Green Tea (which apparently, is not pure green tea but a "blend of Oriental teas". It's not radioactive green... but I'd be scared to drink anything that bright green).
I can't STAND any sort of lemon tea. It makes me completely sick to my stomach. I've tried two completely different brands, and they had the same effect. I've learned my lesson.

Celestial Seasonings makes several blends of Mate. There is one called Morning Thunder, which is a blend of roasted Mate and black tea. This is the best for coffee lovers, since it resembles coffee in taste. However, my personal favorite is the peach verde mist which contains peach flavor. :floating: There is also a tropical zinger mate which has tropical fruits in it, which is quite good. And finally there is one that I can't remember the name of but it is a spicy tea with cloves and stuff. You can also buy plain Mate from some places, but it is hard to find. If you get it plain I recommend putting in some brown sugar or stevia to sweeten it. This is how it is traditionally drunk, though it is also good plain.
