Okay here's the problem...I've been working on a BOS for more than a year now, and every few weeks or so, the bloomin' thing up and disappears on me!! POOF!! It usually takes me at least three days to find it again and it's always in the most bizarre places (last time I lost it, I found it in the bathtub...and I know what you're thinking...the kids were at my mother's for two days straight...they couldn't have taken it!). What do you make of this? Is it trying to tell me something??? Help!!

Perhaps it isn't needed at this time in your life? Or it's written in the wrong medium for you?

Hmm... what did you do during the time it was missing? Anything unusual?

Its got a mind of its own now!

I keep mine in my drawer. Its more of a diary type BOS. I'm very good about putting it back after I've written in it so I can't say I've had your problem.

sounds like a message, to me.

try meditating on the places you find the book. ie, you found it in the bathtub.

bathtub associations for me include:

-- cleanliness
-- water
-- kids playing
-- drowning, death, and murder (too many horror movies, lol!)
-- white
-- vulnerability
-- soap bubbles
-- rest and relaxation
-- sensuality (the candles, bubblebath, and wine thing)
-- privacy
-- retreat
-- relief
-- dog hair (ever try to clear the drain after washing rover?)
-- subterranean wierdness (who *knows* where those pipes *really* go?)

and so on.

it might point you to something you need at that particular time, whether it's a relaxing bubblebath or relief from incipient paranoia.

I have that happen at my apt.all the time, stuff moving around. Usually it happens after something that requires me to expend more "energy" than I usually do. I chalk it up to possibly this:

1. Side effect of the expended energy. :o
2. poltergeist, pixie,or other playful spirit that watches us. :bad::elf:
3. The Gods messing with my head again.

In your case might I suggestthat your God[dess] may just be reading whats written and thats how they let you know!? ;)

Heheheh good luck.I HATE it when that happens!

Peace,
Twig

Usually when things go missing for me I think it's a message because the place it eventually shows up in sends a strong association. Like threenorns idea. Bathtub to me is strongly suggesstive of things associated with water: cleansing, spirit, deep emotion, dark emotion, unconcious, unknown, unseen, below the surface...along those lines. What other types of places did you find it in? If those places have a connecting link, similar quality...

I'm with Twig here. A pair of friends of mine are always having stuff moved and misplaced. One's a medium and they have a lot of spirits and fae folk in their house. Just this past Thursday when I was over they were talking about how one of the kids toys that was downstairs in the morning had somehow made its way to one of their beds by night (and not in the kids hands either). Months ago when their oldest was younger they'd often find her bedroom light turned on or off, things missing from her crib, or her crib wall moved up and down (the wall was made such that it could be moved down easily so you could reach the baby, if mom left it up she'd find it down, or vice versa).

You know, this is too funny. I know it's not funny to you, sweetie. But have you ever thought that you're not supposed to be keeping a BoS? Or that perhaps you're placing too much importance on the book? Or maybe the Little People in your house are just having fun with you.

good luck!

Hey, if it is faeries, maybe you could entice them to play hide and seek with you and your kids once in a while. :D That'd be soo fun. I think faeries are put off from my house by the constant music blaring. :( That, and I think I gave them stale honey once.

Well, I didn't MEAN to!! I just thought it was so hard cause it'd been in the fridge for a while. Of course, once I left it out for a few days, it didn't soften up... but it didn't grow mold or anything. *sigh* Do you think I've forever banished the faery folk from me?

:D This is so fun to hear other people talking about!

I've had lots of fun. The trailer park I live in used to be one of those horrible lsd hangouts in the 70's, and there's all these weird gnome things that get SO annoying. . . they INSIST on watching when I get dressed, one once even "shot an arrow" into my butt :bad: I like the faeries better. They like to hang out in my room and confuse me by moving things. Once one kept hopping in a tumbler of water I was drinking. Every time I'd look away I'd hear a "sploosh" and there would be a few drops of water on top of my scanner (which was where my water was). After that I set up a little basin of water in my bathroom as a bath for them. It's kept them out of my drinks so far! 8O

But hai, lots of my stuff decides to move around (I and my dad are the only ones who live here, and my dad doesn't come into my room). Sometimes I'll loose really important things for months until they just suddenly show up in incredibly obvious places. (ex: say I can't find this folder I need for school. . . the day after I need it it's suddenly sitting on my dresser)

hmm. . . my BOS barely has anything in it, and it lives in my purse hehe. I don't think they even care about that. They'd be more likely to mess with my diary -_-;

**this is an edit**
after I sent this post, one of my favourite earrings went missing. .. right off my ear!! And I was wearing it, because I had just checked to see if it was there before I wrote the post (I do that sometimes). I've checked all over the floor and everything! the earring dissapeared into thin air right out of my ear!! -_-; this does get annoying at times.
**end of edit**

**2nd edit**
I just found it. It was sitting on my bed nicely with my talisman.

The first time I wrote in my new Grimoire I used this beautiful Gold pen that my grandmother gave me. No a minute after I put it down, it went missing...and never, believe me never showed up again. Well this was over a month ago. I though maybe it had gotten misplaced...or fell under the couch or something....but when we moved...didn't see hyde nor hair of it.
Think it was the fae? I knew I should've left milk that day....(grumbles):(

That's ok, Loopy. Honey doesn't get stale. It will crystalize in the fridge & is still good. I leave crystalized honey out for the faery folks too. Sometimes even a bit of chocolate.

This used to happen to me all the time. Before I knew it, my BOS's were gone, car keys, that clicky thingy the arms the car alarm. Chalked it up to the following

1) Rum
2) Vodka
3) Coke (as in o'Cola)
4) CIA AND the Secret (shhh, tell no one) Service
5) Just plain ol' "oops, dun forgot what I did with it.
6) Dunno
7) More Rum, Vodka and a twist of Lime
8) is it morning already
9) more Rum - screw the vodka
10) what was I writing anyway.

So, there you have it. When you loose your BOS, look first in the tub. If it's not there, search elsewhere.:D

Go ahead, you can call me that.

Not trying to get techinical on ya' but a Cuba Libre is a rum and coke with lime juice or a wedge...

Dunno what that matters, but thought I would share (nothin' better to do).
