I am wondering if it is not just your surroundings.... I went through that....I would tell you in PM sometime if you ask.... Sometimes you hate where you are enough that it makes you physically ill........

NOW my mom talked to the doctor again and she thinks I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Basically, it means they recognize that I'm extremely tired (what a %$#%*& surprise), only they won't do anything about it and I have to pretend like it doesn't exist. They're cure? "Just get more sleep at home."

poor poor Klucky
You seem to need to find some relaxation techniques that may aid you in getting better quality sleep and maybe help you to not be so pissed off. :)
Hey, its a possibility!
peace and love sweets,

My sympathies, Klucky. Really and truly. I know what it's like to not be able to get a diagnosis, considering the stuff with my husband. And CFS is a real syndrome that a lot of doctors don't want to deal with.

Not to say that you're not sick, but have you tried changing your diet?
I know that I don't eat right. It use to drive my hubby nuts because I was always dragging and tried to sleep 10-11 hours a day.. with naps :) I changed my diet, started taking a multivitamin, and drinking more water. There was a huge difference after a few days. I'm back down to sleeping around 7 hours and have a lot more physical and mental energy. Knowing that you're just not taking care of yourself can be a lot less stressful than being labled with a syndrome.

THat syndrome means you do not get enough rest.... sleep won't do it...if it is not restful... we just talked about this.. I am so sorry...and here for you whenever you need... the diet thing may not be a bad idea to look at too

Well normal is good. Energies are still coming to you hun. Chronic Fatigue Syndrom is a real thing and can give you symptoms like you have experienced and there is help and lots of support groups out there for you to seek advice and counsel. Don't dispair yet, somehow I feel you will find the answers you seek.

Hey, Kluckster, sorry you didn't get a different result from the tests...
But, I think in some ways you're lucky they at least ventured the guess of CFS... when I was going to the doctor's for this kind of stuff, they told me that there was really no such thing as CFS... my problems were all imaginary.
Anyway, I know you probably have done this on your own, but I looked up a couple of things for you (or for anyone else who is interested)...
Herbal preparations: Plants are known sources of many pharmacological materials. However, unrefined plant preparations contain variable levels of the active compound and may contain many irrelevant, potentially harmful substances. Preparations that have been claimed to have benefit to CFS patients include astralagus, borage seed oil, bromelain, comfrey, echinacea, garlic, Ginkgo biloba, ginseng, primrose oil, quercetin, St. John's wort, and Shiitake mushroom extract. Only primrose oil was evaluated in a controlled study, and the beneficial effects noted in CFS patients have not been independently confirmed. Some herbal preparations, notably comfrey and high-dose ginseng, have recognized harmful effects.

They also suggest diet changes and exercise, including yoga or Tai Chi... I know you don't really want to change your lifestyle, but maybe you can come up with some of your own alternatives...

Some of those are geared toward kids, but... I thought they were helpful.

I wish I could say that good diet and meditation/relaxation techniques were the key to feeling better. However, my home life, friend life, and school life prevent it. Believe me, I've tried them all.
But thanks anyhow. :huddle:

Klucky dear, I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I think if you have CFS you should have the Epstein Barr virus show up in your blood tests. I am NOT positive about this, but have you checked this out?
BTW--I am not trying to imply that CFS isn't the culprit here, but it just raised a question in my mind. That's all. :)
I hope you get better soon, sweetie! :hugz:

I was under the impression that Epstein Barr was the indicator for mono, and that chronic fatigue was a syndrome, meaning basically a collection of symptoms (sometimes mono-related)?

I've been going through the very same cycle of 'something's wrong, do some tests, everything's fine, don't know what it is, ignore it and it might go away' for many years now, and it seems to be the same with everything that's wrong with me! They won't even do more tests to find out what's wrong with my heart...
You keep pushing them to do more! Tell them to refer you to specialists, run as many tests as they can, do anything! Make them find out what's wrong with you, and refuse to ignore it! Sometimes it seems to be the only way to get doctors to do anything more challenging than writing a prescription...
I wish you all the best of luck with this, and I hope you find the answers soon. :hugz:

I'm with Mudweed...I thought that since CFS was a disease of omission, nothing would show up in the blood tests to pinpoint it per se.

Yes, EBV is the indicator for mono, and apparently up until recently, I understood that it was still used to diagnose CFS. It seems like this has changed a little. Apparently, sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not. :bigredblu
Klucky, here's a link to some symptoms of CFS in case you need any more info.

You've probably got a lot already, but just one more for you. :)
And another thought--have they checked your thyroid at all?

This is my situation at the moment ~exactly~.
I got told they ~could~ find out what it was, but they weren't going to bother because they couldn't do anything about it anyway.
Get some exercise and sleep lots *grr* bearing in mind anything later than 9.30 is a late night for me... *grr grr*

I cut sugar out of my diet about a year ago and that helped ~immensly~... hasn't solved it, but I'm not so emotional!
