hey morr. :)
Not trying to be a toal PITA, but I am not sure if that work. (Please forgive me I have several thoughts slipping through my head right now, so if I don't make sense, you know why). I mean, it will work, but I wonder if the new students would get the same out of the lessons as the original group is.
My class is really forming a great bond with each other. Soemone else who ocomes in say next month might not feel the same.
My basic information isn't going to change but our converstaions, interactions and spiritual growth will. I have has many of my students tell me that this class has made them thimnk more about their paths then ever before. I wouldn't want someone new to miss out on that.
Does that make any sense?
i totally understand what you mean... and originally i was hoping to make these private boards, with classes going on rotation so each time theres a new group of people... but the site god made the final decision which was that all the information on the boards need to be open to everyone at all times.. hence private boards couldnt work..
So its really out of my hands..
You can always ask mol to delete your own lessons of the class that youre done with, and start a new sign up thread and brand new lesson threads... i dont know if that will work, so you'll have to ask mol himself!

Quick question: When our very first class is over, how do we teach the future ones? Just copy and paste are old posts into new ones and just make sure to be present for the students? I mean, we're basically giving the same information, right?

As an Idea...
Instead of teaching the same class...build upon the old one. LEts say the class you are teaching could be used as a bases for students to use as a comprehension of future classes you may do with dragons. For instance...your teaching Dragons.... wel next class get more secific... lets say working with Elemental and Planetary dragons (as an example I dont know if thats something you teach Im just saying). And come up with ideas around that.

That is a good idea, but I don't think I really could include more in my lessons, personally (I don't know how that goes for the rest of you). Along with guardians, I've got all the other dragons in it as well. :)

Hey everyone... just wanted you to know I haven't forgotten you. If you see my posts "Notice to Students" on my class threads, you'll see that I have some things going on right now that are keeping me away from the computer and classes more than I'd like. I'm continuing to work on things as I can... I just wanted to give you all a heads up. I'm STILL posting lessons - I'm just not able to be online every single day right now.
Anyways... just wanted to give all of you who are waiting on diplomas a heads up.
If your class will be ending shortly, let me know and I'll put you at the top of the list.

Personally, I don't think it sucks. I wasn't able to sign up for it this time around, but I would like to eventually. :) Have you spread the word at all? Like, in your signature or something?

Hmmm...maybe the others don't come on MW much? I have a few like that. Your lessons so far have directly asked for participation when needed, right? *shrugs* Sorry I couldn't be of more help. :)

Maybe the old threads could stay up, but for each new class, we could make new ones? You know, with basically the same information, but so they could have threads that they could call their own? And I think it would be a little less confusing for the teachers (at least for me). We could include the date a thread was posted in its title or something. "Lesson 1, 5/27/04". Maybe?

I have been thinking about this a lot. I have had several people pm me recently about when the next session starts. Some of them have joined in and caught up even though I am halfway through the lessons (Yay for them!! They are awesome!) Others have said they want to wait if the classes start again.
What I plan to do, if this is ok with Morr and mol, is start my class again from the beginning, maybe in September. Obviously the "old" class threads will still be there and that would be fine. The new group could use that as reference. Some of the projects we have, like the cookbook, could be ongoing with new and old students.
How does that sound to you, mol, Morr and the other teachers?

I have been thinking of teaching a class about colors, including
1.mystical associations
2.collective associations and
3.life applications
Could I get assistance with the class? I am thinking of assistance with computer techie things primarily..Most of what I would teach would be easily done by me.
Also in the life applications part I would like to invite input from other teachers from time to time where there is some crossover, for example colors of herbs as corresponds to their actions or chakra colors, stone colors, etc.
Do I go through you Morr? Is this how it starts? I've taught courses (on other subjects) at college, but not online. :)

that sounds like a very interesting subject, i guess you should PM the other teachers whom classes you can corrospond to, and offer this idea to them.. im sure they'd love it :)
as for tech assistance, what do you mean by tech assistance?

Well...I am so not computer literate that I have a hard time sometimes just uploading banners...took me quite a while to get my banner on my sig...and I noticed that there are diploma banners and so forth... :weirdsmil I'm learning every day, tho'
Not dumb, just never had a class in it... :smileroll Just did data entry, interfaces, and taught a simple keyboarding class, but it didn't include a lot of the operations with the banners and so on, so I was wondering if I might get help with that if I need it later on.
I'll start getting some syllabi together and some sites for students to peruse for color wheel info, then.
New EDIT!! Well the transfer we were awaiting to Va is finally at hand (see under my avatar??) so I'll have to postpone teaching a class for some time until all my ducks are in a row, so to speak...

If it's possible, and not stepping on Morr's toes, I'd like to possibly teach a class on Christian Witchcraft, not Christo-Paganism, but biblically reconciling Christianity and Witchcraft as well as various pagan practices that I have found to be very compatible with Christianity. It'll take me a few days to get a syllabus/lesson plan worked out, so let me know if it would be ok.

I had an idea for a CoT bulletin board-type thing which I asked about in the Site Room.

Good idea or bad? I thought it might be helpful and a bit more organized for people, but maybe I'm missing some cons. :)

I'm interested in teaching:
1) Irish Celtic Mythology.
2) Arthurian Legends in Paganism.
3) History of Christo~Paganism (more about the relationship between the two religions, and how they are tied into each other).
I was thinking of a few things:
~ Have a seperate board/forum for the classes. Where each class will have its own thread.
~ I was thinking of making each class thread private, so that only the people signed up for the class will have access to the essays/lessons and the assignments - because if theres too many students, a teacher might get overwhelmed, but thats debateable I guess. If the classes should go this way, I think that they should go in a rotation manner - have a limit on the number of students signed up. a peson who missed the sign up date, can sign up when classes reopen again...
~ In each class thread - the teacher will post the essays/lessons, and the student can post their assignments and experiences with it, so they can share with the other students as well and have discuissions about it all.
~ The little blinkie idea for whoever completes a class - something to the effect of "I completed Morr's Irish Celtic Mythology class! Ask me about it!". A different blinkie for each different class.
~ these will be free to all of course.
~ Each teacher will make it clear before they start teaching, that the knowlege they share is their own personal experience & take through their own spiritual path. And that its not rule set in stone.... So that we wont have nasty debates on whats right and whats wrong when it comes to a specific subject.
Anybody have more ideas? Anybody disagrees with what I said?
What about age limit? Like for an underage teen...? can there be any legal problems with that?
I agree with you I would like to see more about mythology and the religious side of all paths, but I am truley interested in anything celtic.
Please let us all know if and when any new classes will be starting up, because I would love to see these changes happen.
Sorry If I shouldn't have replied to you here cause I get the feeling that this is for class teachers only and not for students, but hey I thought that you could use a little voice like mine to speek up for all other students.

I would love to teach either a basic tarot class, tarot court card class, anything tarot. Do you guys think there would be an interest in that? I have been reading tarot for 6 years and have many good reference books and materials.

Actually I think the tarot forum itself has it's own class. I don't know how active it is though

I would be very interested to teach Numerology. It enhances both Astrology and Tarot.
I have been teach it for about 15 years.
I'd love to do it for interested MW members.
Let me know if you would like to see a class outline.

I could teach history of the "Burning Times." The real stuff, not the fluff. It would probably also go into folk magic practiced at the time. Don't know if anyone would be interested though because it's more academic than practical application.
I would also be highly interested in facilitating a class on the Goddess Path. Basically, it would be learning about a bunch of different goddesses and the use of ritual and meditation to interact with them.
Just throwing out some ideas. :viking:
