Last night I asked for a God or Goddess to come to me in my dreams. The name was written on the back of a picture, the picture was fuzzy. It was given to me by a vampire. The rest of the writing was some kind of warning. I wish I could remember the whole name it was signed with but I only remember the first three letters Muf. Anyone know who it was?

Hi Spirit Moon.

I can't find any God or Goddess with those three letters as the beginning of the name. I've got a pretty big list but it isn't every name! LOL

The letters came close a few times but nothing exact. Maybe there is someone around here that will know...
Good luck

Like Spirit Wind, I looked for deities searching for dieties' names beginning with "muf," and I didn't find a single one. Maybe you will find out more about a god/dess visiting you in a dream tonight or the future. Be patient! Sometimes things take time.

I am having a serious deja vu moment about this post. My train of thought started out "The only thing I can think of that starts with Muf. if Mufasa and then I wondered if that was the name of any african god or goddess or maybe if the name just meant a facet of deity . . . and then I just went all wonky like I've had these thoughts before and now my eyes feel like they are bulging out of my head. Sorry to be so bizarre. I'm looking through my stuff here for ya :P

Sorry, I couldn't find any deity whose name started with "Muf" in any of my reference books.

You might want to try some other divination methods (pendulum, Ouija board, tarot, whatever) and ask specific questions to help you figure out how the name is spelled.

It might be a spirit's name and not an actual deity. You'll have to decide for yourself if you think this is a spirit that is helpful or harmful to you.

Mufasa was the lion king in the Disney movie and play (Simba, the main character, is Mufasa's son.)

I suspect the character of Mufasa was derived from the African (Bantu) god Mukasa, which is very similar. Mukasa is considered to be the Supreme Deity, a god of plenty and fertility. His symbol is a stone pillar. He's an oracle god too. In Uganda Mukasa was considered to be the chief god. Some say Mukasa is the son of the earthquake god Musisi and the mortal woman Nambubi.

Mukasa is also the name of a peaceful god of plenty in India.

I got the info on Mukasa from the book "Dictionary of Ancient Deities" by Patricia Turner and Charles Russell Coulter.

Just want to make it clear: that site is a role playing game site (check out the main URL at http://www.infinity-bound.net/alfaellands/ ) The deities listed were all made up specifically for a role-playing game and are not based on real deities.

What's with the text? Anyway, maybe they are initials? Archaic Latin and other languages used to drop vowels. For instance, Mercury used to be spelled: MRCRS. But that wouldn't explain the "u." Very curious. I'm going with Ben's analysis.

You know I backed up through the links and couldn't find anything about a game. Though I thought that had to be what it was, I somehow missed it. However, if a person has had contact with that game in the past, it could be creeping up from the subconscious now and merely represent the aspects that the character in the game alludes to.

And yeah, I know who the Disney Mufasa was but the only other word I can think of off the top of my head that starts with muf is muffet. Could it be little miss? :P

Thank you all for trying to help me :)

I'm sorry about the font and size.

This will teach me to ask and not be specific. I'm only familiar with some of the Greek Gods; however, I'm being drawn to Ireland.

I thought the same thing when I woke up. No one I know has those intials or in any part of their name. I’ve never done any role playing so that’s out.

I don't have any of those things.

I didn't think of that. As for it being harmful or helpful...with the way I was feeling during it I don't think it could be helpful.
