as i mentioned elsewhere, my hubbie and i were renovating mum's cottage in anticipation of her sister's arrival on the 28th from sweden.
it's not going to happen: today, she got a phone call saying that her sister had had a heart attack and probably won't be cleared for flight.
now we can't find her -- mum *thought* she said she was in the huddinge hospital, but they've never heard of her (she was on meds). i called the karolinska hospital, and ended up taking a very expensive tour of their small-city-sized facility.
mum thought she said she was going to undergo drug therapy to try and reduce a blocked artery, but someone at the karolinska said they're pretty sure she's scheduled for surgery tomorrow.
i think good thoughts and prayers are in order, here.....

I'm so saddened to hear this, too!! :( :( But I'm also confused: how is it that a very sick woman is admitted to the hospital for surgery and her family not be notified? Also, why did they charge you money just to see the hospital she was in??!
My prayers and energy are sent out to you, your family and especially your aunt. May the Goddess hold your aunt in Her arms and help her heal.
Blessed Be,
Wyrdsister

sometimes i forget that ppl don't know as much as i think they do because i forgot to tell them!
i should have mentioned that my aunt is in sweden and we're in canada. an hour spent going from switchboard to reception to answering machine to switchboard is VERY expensive when it's an overseas call!
we found her, though!! she was sent to a very small cottage-type hospital outside roninge, sweden, which is good because it's right close to her home.
score one for the statisticians: my aunt is only 50 years old, she has one completely blocked artery, probably more on the way out, which "proves" what "they" say about finns having a high risk of heart disease!

you have them from here, if memory serves we have a couple of members in sweden, i don't know the geography there to know where roninge is in relation to everywhere else but perhaps they could help you keep in touch?

but we got it covered now -- unless they feel like making like ninjas to get past hospital curfew and break open the switchboard?
