I am writing a novel in which Chiron is a main character. i would be interested in your impressions of what it would be like to speak with Chiron -- his appearance and personality? (Chiron: centaur, healer, teacher of Achilles and Jason)

Wise, someone who really knows his stuff, but melancholy, sometimes wincing in pain... the whole incurable wound thing! :) If I can think of who reminds me most of Chiron I'll post back... it was on the tip of my tongue but I lost it!

veinglory, you might want to try meditating on Chiron yourself with the aid of some centauri tea.
Chiron was the patron of healers, and centauri is used to invoke him before any healing ritual. a warning though... it is brutally bitter!

So are most healings...

Well, Chiron n the literal 'now' would be in Hades and at peace having surrendered his immortality to Prometheus. I was thinking more of his aspect as a teacher and his life before he was wounded by Heracles. For example, during the period of the Trojan war. I have a reasonable clear feeling for it, but I want my book to also resonate with a pagan audience with their own prespectives, if possible. So i was interested in other peoples thoughts on the matter.
