An Oath

MW has been around for a while and we are over 1000 members strong. I am curious to see how many member would be willing to take an oath to the community and, what that oath would be,

I, for one, would swear to the privacy of the members and would carry there secrets to my grave. I would also pledge that I willl be honest in my path and not hinder yours.

Your ideas?

I would take an oath, however I would think that out of common decency and respect for all, noone would use the information found here against another. If they would 1) they probably shouldn't be here anyways and 2) it would cmoe back to kick them in the @$$ times 3.:D Plus it is a rule to respect everyone weather or not you agree with them.

I do though think it'd be a good idea and I'd be willing to do it.

one, my beliefs change often.

and i've come to the decision that Im probably meant to be an athiest.

two, I don't oath to anything, it's not my style. ;)

I would definitely take an oath of that sort...it is a good idea, although even in this venue, not entirely necessary, IMHO...I understand the need to feel secure and safe here, but I think our moderators are doing a pretty good job of ensuring our safety and keeping us in line ;)

I love and respect everyone here. You are all my family man!

For example:
I can honestly that if I gave my address to a trusted member of this community, I would expect it to stay private.

As well as anything else of sensitive and private nature.
I would take an oath. I can't see there being any problem with it. So long as it was never taken too far or way too far out of context.
(that last statement is based on an experience of a friend of mine.) Not meant to ruffle any feathers. :):):):)

Actually, I have already taken several oaths.

I think that oaths are what define a Wiccan as such.

I took a Gwyddon Oath that I firmly stand by. Mystic Wicks is part of my family, too. I'd do whatever necessary to protect my family. And have. :D

I voted yes. I would most certainly do anything to protect my family here. I'd have no problem taking an oath such as this.

Hmm. When one becomes a member here you agree to certain rules. That is almost like an oath. I dont think I would ever ask anyone to take an oath here...

I would just ask them to be themselves...

and

To be respectful of each other...

and

To remember that they are part of something that they make great each and every day.
