Hi Twig, you invited me & I thank you. I am of Irish ancestry and have always felt an affinity with Irish folklore, only I think the leprechans are real. I have always wanted to learn more about the druids. Anytime I read something about them I feel close. Anyway I will be in here watching, learning & maybe posting a little as I learn. Thanks for the invite

Dia Duit!
Glad you asked! I'd like to learn about the Gods and Goddesses in Druidry, since I don't know much about them...
Thanks for asking!
Brightest Blessings!

There are some variations between the celtic nations, which are you interested particularly?

If you can, try finding a book called __The World of the Druids__by Miranda Green. It's a good overview, and one chapter is specifically on the Irish myths. I'm gonna look around my hoard this weekend for some specifically Irish things. Okay?

What is a grove? Is it a Coven?
Do Druids perform Magick?
Is there more than one way to be a Druid?
How does one become a Druid?
What and Who do Druids worship?
Is that enough? lol.

For MY KIND OF DRUIDS--the rest of you gotta put your own answers up! :D
The ADF is an umbrella organization, in one sense. It's made up of individual groups, they have to fulfil certain criteria to be registered as a grove. It has nothing to do with covens. Some druids do perform magic, it's just that it's not the focus of worship. I just got a book called __Druid Magic__, the scholarship isn't necessarily the best but the exercises look good. The ADF has a study program, rather long--once a student completes the third circle s/he is considered today's equivalent of druid. The ADF considers itself an umbrella organization for the IndoEuropean religions. Each grove tends to practice what the majority of its members do. In my case we have mostly Norse and Celtic members, so we tend to rotate a bit, using those pantheons.

Maggie

Hi Twig, thanx for the invite. I would love more information on OGHAM and other forms of druid divination such as cloud scrying.
