A while back I had a dream that involved a white wolf standing beside some being. I can't recall what the person looked like but I distinctly remember the white wolf. Does anybody know of a deity perhaps that's associated with white wolves in particular? Thanks.

Hi Selba! I know that there are some Slavic deities associated with wolves. I forget their names at the moment though. :( Off the top of my head, I can't think of any god/desses associated with wolves. The only one who comes to mind might be Artemis/Diana since she's often associated with wolves. However, I usually think she's associated with animals such as deer and dogs more than wolves.

Here's what I found at Encylopedia Mythica (http://www.pantheon.org/cgi-bin/search.pl?Match=1&Terms=wolf) when I searched wolf. There's a little over four pages of info, though most of it looks like references to the Norse deities relationship to Fenris.

You may also want to search through the American deities too. I can't think of any off the top of my head, as I haven't done much study of them really, but aren't there a few northern Native American gods/goddesses associated with wolves?

Perhaps you should look into dieties with white animals, rather than just wolves.
I forget what the word it for someone who has no colour, but I know a few dieties have white animals...

Apollo is also associated with wolves. i don't know if they would specifically be white wolves or not. although if the white wolf is the clearest detail, the wolf itself may be a better thing to focus on.

macha: the word you are looking for is albino. an albino wolf, as opposed to one with white pigmentation, would have red or pink eyes.

This is a very interesting subject! I hope to read more on it, because I've always wondered what Goddesses were associated with wolves other than Artemis (to some degree).

You start talking deities with wolves, you start talking Norse and Native American deities mostly, although you also get some like Wepwawet (Egyptian).

Of course, it could also be Wolf that is trying to show you something, either some lesson like patc suggested, or maybe you have a future relationship with Wolf. As one who can and does at times speak for the wolves, I'll tell you that a wolf always knows the scent of a sibling, even a lost one.

I think she calls through our subconscious, and not just "from" it. :)
