Saw a god in a vision a few days back. Body of a human, head of a lion, multiple prehensile tails. It sounds a bit like a sphinx, but I don't think it was. Any ideas?

Male or female? If it was female, I would say Sachmet, an egyptian geddess.

A lion head would suggest an African god, however prehensile tails are only found in some new world monkey’s, which would suggest a south American god... I don’t think that helps any? Do you have any other details?

Did you get a 'feeling' from them? Strength, fear, chaos.. all different gods. Sounds like maybe Maahes, an egyptian lion god of protection and justice (little brother/cousin/son of Sekhmet). But Maahes wasn't depicted with these tails, from what I know. Maybe if you can provide a sense of how they 'felt' to you, I'll give a bit of a glance over my mytho books. Sounds interesting! :)

This one in particular was one with which I felt a stong connection, but several others were present. The only other one I remember was serpentine, with multiple heads. Not a hydra, more like Medusa.

As for the lion, he (definitely was a male, though the serpentine one was female, not sure about the others) was extremely powerful both in the physical and spiritual sense. Strong sense of duty as well. I got the strong impression this was not a being to piss off, but that once a relationship was established the bond became nearly unbreakable.

Sounds like some kinda Arabic God seeing as lions were once common is not only Africa but also Asia and southern Europe.

The Female serp might be the Morrigan, in one of her many forms... I might be wrong as I her not.

The Male lion is definatley Egyptian, a while lion's fur coat is the headress of an Egyptian god. I am not much familar with what you described, yet it could be Isis or Sachmet - not sure; yet I am sure it is Egyptian.

Good Luck
