Here it's 2 am and I'm still online and I see several others are but no one's posting!!

What are you all up to? What's new today? What happened that was good or bad; what did you learn; where did you go?

I didn't do a damned thing, mostly. The highlight of my day was meeting my bf after work and going to a friend's house for an hour. Then I came home and painted a little. Now I'm online. ^_^

It's almost midnight here on the Westcoast. I found out something sad today.

A while ago, someone had started a thread about good deeds. I posted about meeting up with a young boy who asked me for food one very wet & rainy day. I didn't have any with me so I went into a store & some stuff for him. When I came back out, he was gone. Today, a co-worker told me that she had run into the same young boy. He also had asked for food. She bought him some stuff & a can of pop from the vending machine. She said that she had to open the can of pop for him because he was too weak to do it himself. She asked him how old he is & he said 18. He is obviously lying about his age. He doesn't look any more than 13 at the most. It makes me so sad to think that this child must have ran away from a home situation so bad that living on the streets like this was preferable to living at home. I couldn't help think about my own son & all the wonderful young people here. I hope this young boy finds what he needs.

Sorry for this...

I think perhaps you should go to your local police station, and describe the situation with this boy. Give them a full description of him. If he is a runaway, perhaps his parents are looking for him. If he's runaway due to abuse in the home, if the police find him, I'm sure he will tell them why he left home. If he's been abused, the Police can hand him over to social services, and make sure he gets into a foster home.

If he's not a runaway, but rather homeless due to some other reason, I'm sure they will work it out. I would hate to see this end terribly...there is still time for him...he can be saved.

If you see him again, try to talk to him, and find out what happened.

Gods..this is so sad.

We were talking about him at work. Apparently, one of the other women had called the police. They weren't able to find him. I work near the Skytrain station. We think he just hops on the train & goes off to another station. I haven't seen him since that rainy day but I've been watching for him. Here, you don't have to go into foster care if you're 18. We think that's why he said he's 18. It's altogether possible that he's run away from his foster family as well.

(yawns) Here in Ohio it is now 2:40 AM....I roam here late most nights...and try to post when something catches my eye. Though...at this point in my day, my fingers are kinda crampy. 8O

What did I learn?....Sometimes people disagree...and the most civil people, can learn to disagree gracefully.

My week is quickly filling up...and it seems if I don't check my email 10 times a day, it turns into a fair load....(sigh) I should get out more...maybe tan a little. lol

And, I still have to figure out what I'm doing for Lammas! Though i think I'm celebrating privately for sure, and possibly going to a puplic ritual next Wednesday.

Plans anyone?
