View Full Version : Stupid question about interpreting Court Cards...

Please keep in mind I am a complete Tarot baby. ;)

I have been reading a few different books and each of them say that some times the court cards represent a person of that quality, that a Page is a child, Knight Young adult and so on. And then they say that it could also represent a person acting in that manner... a Page is a childish person. And then they go on to say that it could represent that quality in yourself.

How do you know when to interpret them in the right way? I have been doing a lot of readings for friends and some family, and I have been feeling very confident on the Major and Minor Arcana. But the court cards end up leaving me stumped. I usually interpret them as either being a specific person or that quality within the querent and leave it up to them to decide.

Any advice to a Tarot Baby?
Thanks and blessings.

I can generally tell if the Queen or King is representing a real person apart from the querent - or put it this way, I tend to feel it!

Knights to me always seem to signify a warning or advice generally about extremes (of the suit qualities), for example a reading I did recently (for me!!) brought up the Knight of Cups, and I interpreted it as telling me to be open and emotional but not clingy and paranoid, to be sensitive but not touchy, to be understanding but not over-analytical.

With Pages, I do have a problem and tend to be a bit woolly about them!! Most times I feel that they are telling the querant to look at life (within the suit qualities) the way a child would - with wonder and acceptance, and no emotional baggage. But I'm really not happy with pages!!

Anyone else give us some pointers?
