Well, this is my reading for the day (rather, for tomorrow :rolleyes: ) It's a celtic cross that I did for Faeawyn, posted here with her permission :) . No particular question, just an overall life spread. I'll give the spread, and then my interpretation to make it easier for you to find the cards for your own interpretations. So...
1. Current Situation: The Devil (13)
2: Reason this is- Queen of Pentacles
3. 'Root' of the situation: The World (21)
4. Past influences- 4 Cups
5. Possible Future- 6 of swords
6. Current future *future if you continue w/o change*- Ace of Wands
7. Current Personal feelings/karmic implications- Judgement (20)
8. Outside influence/ others' view of you- 2 of Swords
9. your hopes and fears- Reverse 2 of Cups
10. Likely outcome- High Priestess (2)
Hmm.. alright. From what I can tell, right now you're feeling trapped or smothered (Devil) because of a family environment (Queen of Pents). Maybe you're afriad to take a leap and move outside the comfort zone that has been created by your community.
The root of this problem (The World) could mean that you're wanting to escape to explore the world; try new things, maybe learn about other cultures. The Past influence (4 Cups) could mean represent regrets that you have from a past attempt at exploration that's led you to fear taking that leap. Also, maybe the boredom acquired from a routine that's developed.
The possible outcome, (6 Swords) is the 'Ah-Ha!' moment card. This could be a personal revelation, or the moment when the missing piece falls into place. Being an air card, maybe you finally get another person to understand your argument, or come to reach an agreement. The current future, that which will happen on your current road, is the Ace of Wands. This is the absolute Fire card- representing unlimited passion and ambition. Or, possibly on a personal level, you've come to a personal epiphany. The 8th card, the 2 of Swords, is the outside influence on your life as of right now. The classic blind woman with crossed swords is in play here, which seems to mean that people are giving you an ultimatem(sp?)- forcing you to make choices which leave you feeling like you'll lose either way.
The 9th card, your hopes and dreams card, is the reverse of the 2 of Cups. I don't use Reversals, so the fact that this is reversed seemed to point to the fact that it's of great importance. It seems to echo the overall theme of the reading- relationships. You could be lusting after that special someone, or fearing that what you'll say or do will end a bond that you've worked hard to maintain. And finally, the last card was the High Priestess, is the overall outcome. Her presence seems to suggest that no matter what you choose, ultimately you should follow your intuition and stay true to yourself and your beliefs. Also, it could mean that you're about to detach yourself emotionally in order to protect yourself and others- maybe avoiding the conflict instead of taking it on.
