Healing a Bad Back...

In the past few months my husband has been having lower back problems. This past week he's been out of work because of it. He's already seeing a chiropractor and physical therapist, and they seem to be helping but it's going slow.

I feel a little helpless watching him walk around in pain, and even sitting isn't comfortable either. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here knows of a good healing spell or some kind of healing ritual. It is not my itention to heal him overnight, but I would like to participate in his healing process.

I normally use candle magick, though I rarely do magick in general unless I feel that it's really needed.

Any suggestions or healing rituals would be appreciated! :)

It is believed that the Djed symbolizes the human backbone. It represents stability and strength. It was originally associated with the creation god Ptah. It lends stability and strength.

It was later associated with Osirus, but as a part of burial rituals to assist the dead through their journey through the underworld.

I would draw one on parchment, using the color red and take something that belongs to the injured person, preferably cloth, something he has worn.

Study the symbol intently for about five minutes, two or three times a day, and in doing so visualize his back growing stronger. After the vizualization, wrap the item around the drawing, and put it away.

This is healing magic so the moon should be waxing.

You may use a candle in a brass holder, in the center of a round table, on a white tablecloth.

If you have a prefered tradition, speak to your Goddess and God by their names and ask for their assistance. Be sure to thank them.

A couple of suggestions. One is a simple knot spell. Take a piece of string (personally I'd go with white to represent bone or red to represent muscle) and make nine knots in it roughly equal distance one from the other. As you tie each knot speak to focus your mind and energy on the problem. (Example, "I make this first knot for pain which denies my beloved his job. I make this second knot for the pain which makes my beloved weep in the night. I make this third knot for the aches which mere love cannot soothe. I make this fourth knot for the pain which keeps my beloved from slumber. etc.) Then when the string is knotted hold it aloft and say, "This is the back of my beloved, knotted with pain which I seek to heal." Then take the string and begun to untie the knots, again as you untie each one speak to focus your mind and your Magic. (Examples again, "This first knot of pain is undone by the Will of the gods (or name a particular one if you wish), This second knot of pain is undone by my Will and my love for (your husbands name), This third knot of pain is undone by the skill and the care of the doctors who seek to help my beloved be healed, This fourth knot of pain is undone by the will of my beloved who seeks health and wholeness, This fifth knot of pain is undone by the will of my beloved's employer and co-workers who desire his return to their ranks etc. Basically name anyone who would want to see your husband well, children, his parents, friends etc.) Then when the cord is free from its knots hold it aloft again and say, "This is the back of my beloved freed from pain, thanks be to the healers and the gods for this gift." Then set the cord aside where it will not be interfered with. Later on when your husbands back is better if you wish to get rid of the cord take it in hand and say, "This is no longer the back of my beloved, it is only a piece of string." Five times, to disassociate it from your husband, to make sure you don't accidntally create a problem.

The other thing you can do in concert with the knot spell is to take a large empty box of matches and a small action figure, like a GI Joe. If you have a K-Mart or a Wal-Mart they're a good source especially since they carry look alike figures that are cheap. Pick one that resembles in some way your husband, or personalize it. Then empower the match box saying, "This is the machine of divine healing, blessed by the gods and powered by my will, it is ceaseless in it's workings, never stopping until my beloved is healed." Then take the figure and connect it to your husband by saying, "This represents my beloved, all the healing energy that touches it touches him." Then place the figure inside the machine of healing, and say, "Now is my beloved within the machine of divine healing, where there is no day, and there is no night, ceaseless waves of purple light, penetrate his being to heal him and free him from pain. As I will it, so will it be." Then store the machine and figure somewhere where they cannot be interfered with. (Just a note, Purple is my preference, but if you prefer another color of energy feel free. Anyway I hope this helps. I have some back pain problems my self and the healing spell is similar to one I do for myself on the astral plane.
