hey there RnR:D Thankfuly this is not a true missing kid case, its a hoax...

Claim: A 5-year-old boy named Christopher John Mineo is missing.
Status: False.
Origins: This appeal to help find a missing child has been circulating on the Internet since February 2001. In June 2001, someone altered the text of the appeal to indicate Christopher John Mineo had gone missing on 11 May 2001 instead of November 1998 as stated in the original e-mail.

Christopher John Mineo, Jr., is not missing now. Serious doubt exists about whether he ever was missing in the first place. In short:

See the web page for the rest of the info

Rant, don't feel bad....one of these 'missing child' emails comes across my path several times a month, and every time I get madder and madder...

STUPID PEOPLE

Like they haven't anything else to do but send out these ridiculous claims and the fact that there's a picture of this boy attached.....grrrr....it just occured to me that either there's a family out there where this boy is actually living and they're going to be pissed, or this boy is deceased and their poor family is going to be made to suffer, seeing this picture plastered all over the internet!!

I know it can be truly frustrating if it should turn out to be a false claim, but you sometimes have to take the chance and forward the email.
You just never know......
Speaking from personal experience, they help tons. The email chain can be the fastest way to get word out to the public of a missing child.
If nothing else, you meet some truly wonderful people who will offer guidance and support and kind words and prayers for the family.

It would be a wonderful world if we never had to worry about forwarding emails about our greatest gifts being taken from us, but alas, that world does not exist yet. With all of us trying to help, in any way possible, we show that the world has the gentler, caring and kind side of human nature and the nasty people will not prevail long.

Peace and light and the hopes for a brighter, safer place for our children.

I would argue that before you send that email that one should check out a hoax-related website and check it out first. We all may want to do something good, but I would put "avoiding sending spam to our family, friends, and co-workers" in that category. ;) ;)
