Have you tried keeping a tarot journal? It can be a very good teaching tool. Especially when you're learning and stuff. Then, as you get better and better, you can go back and re-interpret your old readings :)

Hi! While I have not purchased a workbook like you've described [and they are indeed manufactured for the public.] I have always been into making my own worksheets using different spreads. This began mostly to help me remember a reading later on down the road. I found this method to be especially handy if someone calls back and says, "Hey, what about that part of that reading you did for me? what did that mean again?..." I'm certain that anyone who reads Tarot has gotten those phone calls or emails :geez: before... The worksheet has saved my credibility on many occasions! I tell you, folks just don't want to hear those three little words... "I don't know."

So, maybe you might want to experiment with creating your own Tarot workbook. I think that the best way to learn tarot on a deeper level like you've described is to use it EVERYDAY. Do a daily card, or a short three-card spread. Look and listen to what the cards are telling you; then look for these influences in your day to day activities. You did not mention what deck you are using but I have discovered that each deck I have is a bit different than the last; I am of the opinion that each of my decks has a real personality! :)

I admit that for some Tarot comes very easily, but not for everyone. IMO, no amount of book reading will help you gain a deeper level of understanding of Tarot. It is like most things in life, you must commit yourself to learning and of course, daily usage. Keep us posted on your progress.

buena suerte!

I bought 2 different workbooks and so far, they really haven't helped me much besides the first exercise, which went into a little more detail about signs, planets & the cards.

I have been keeping a tarot journal for sometime now.I own several different decks and try working with each one as much as possible.I was gifted with the Goddess Tarot deck for my birthday.I just bought the Universal Waite Deck for myself this week end.I already own the Rider-Waite Deck, but this deck screamed out to me.The two decks RW and UW are so similar,so what am I missing? I guess that was the reason for the workbook question. Kokome

I wonder if you (or anyone else, for that matter) would be willing to share your tarot worksheets with the rest of us. That is, if you make them on the computer. I think it would be cool for us to upload document files of our various worksheets.

I haven't made worksheets yet, but I do keep a journal and scribble notes to myself on various readings I do. Worksheets are a great idea. I could see myself making up a three ring binder filled with worksheets for various layouts. Hmmm. Another project for me!

If I create anything, I'll be sure to share it here. :D

Can you post some of the Tarot/Planet correspondences/information that you have learned. I have a deck with planetary symbols and just haven't gotten around to do the research myself. Please share!

I've seen one worksheet for a daily draw... to help you get to know the cards... but I can't remember where it is. It also asked for corespondinces including planetary... which I have no clue on.

the only difference between the Rider-Waite and the Universal Waite are the colors. The Universal Waite ones are toned down a bit and aren't as harsh on the eyes. Thats the deck I use. I love it.
