I love my current Tarot cards, but they're just so big :/ One being this one (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0892815035/qid=1081468110/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1_xs_stripbooks_i1_xgl14/103-8337320-3222244?v=glance&s=books), another being this one (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1586637533/qid=1081468191/sr=1-5/ref=sr_1_5_xs_stripbooks_i5_xgl14/103-8337320-3222244?v=glance&s=books)
I would like to get a deck that is smaller, but still accurate. Preferably around the sides of normal sized playing cards. Does anyone have any recommendations? :$

I'm not sure if they make a deck that's the size of playing cards, I know the standard size is about 5 inches high (with the width of playing cards). They make mini decks, but those are about half the size of a regular poker deck. The two decks that you have seem to be very wide, so most other decks you'll find will be smaller.

Ony thing I can suggest is take a look through here (http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/) and see if something catches your eye. ^_^

I have a couple smaller decks... much like Rider waite.. one is 1 inch by 3/4 or so, and another is about hallf size of normal, bought for daughter's small hands.... I also have seen others, but do not remember where.. the half size ones were cheap, but look nice.... PM me if you want more detail.....they come with a book too.. for like $8.00

My decks "Spiral Tarot" and "Ancestral Path Tarot" are about playing card size and I just love them.

Just a few ideas.. :)

The Hanson-Roberts deck is a very nice sized deck if you wish smaller.

I also enjoy using Lo Scarabeo decks. Their length is roughly average but they are slender in the width. Which makes it easier for me to shuffle and handle much easier.

Also Lo Scarabeo has come out with mini decks. They are about half the size of their normal but I love them. I bought some mini's to my normals just because. They are great to toss into your purse.. or backpack. Easy to shuffle and handle. Great for doing readings when you have limited space for the cards.

Ok.. I'm rambling now.

If you want to check out LS.. their website is www.loscarabeo.com - they don't sell directly from their website.. but they distribute in the US from Llewellyn.. but I'm not sure where you are from.

ok I'm done.. if all else fails.. I really suggest the Hanson-Roberts.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Hanson-Roberts deck. That one is probably exactly what you're looking for. It's the size of normal playing cards, and it's a slight variation on the Waite tarot with art style similar to the Robin Wood. Good deck. ^^

You may want to check the US Games site for "pocket" size decks. I know they have a version of the Goddess tarot that is smaller.

I always thought the cards were too hugh to shuffle too, but when I just grabbed my deck to throw a three card, I found that cards fit nicely in my hands. It will take some time, and plenty of shuffling, but I think your hands will adjust to the cards. I grabbed my normal playing cards and they seem so small now and they are awkward to shuffle! (so tiny feeling) :D It's not something I've really thought about before. I never considered getting a smaller deck. <shrugs> I know that I just shuffled my decks for hours at a time almost every night. They don't feel so big anymore. ;)
