Id call this 'The Circle of Unity' too :D

This spread is useful in issues of family and friends, in helping you figure out the relationships you have to the people around you.

Shuffle the deck and lay out per the diagram above.

Card 1: This is your self, you alone.

Cards 2 and 3 represent your family (literal and figurative), the early influences that have made you what you are.

Card 2: This card represents how your family strengthens you, the positive things that have gone into you. Can be the aspects of yourself that are similar to the rest of your family, or how you fit in.

Card 3: This card represents conflicts with your family, where you don't agree; things you just don't see eye to eye. Can be differences between your family and you.

Cards 4 and 5 represent specific people you are dealing with in this situation, family or friends. Pick as many cards as you need here. You can be as specific here or as vague as you need: you can pick cards for specific people, or let the cards decide who is who.

Card 6: This card represents the opinions of others and how it affects you; can be approval or disapproval, or peer pressure.

Card 7: This card represents your view of things, your opinion and the way you see things, the direction you need to go whether they agree or disagree.

Have a go following the diagram below and lets get talking about it :D

This is a great one for me to try right now. But then, lol, we all have probs with relationships, all too often!
Do you have any idea as to why the cards are layed out the way that they are?

Id say because a circle is forever and unity :)

Thats cool babe, it was a really good point! Its also got one card in the circle so maybe it could be you surrounded by all your friends and family as a ring of love and unity! :)

Ive just got my new Sacred Circle Deck!! (just an hour ago!) Its so unusual and very interesting ~ the cards make me feel as though I want to step in them and meet the characters so much! Ill meditate with them later on today and give this one a whirl with them tomorrow! :)

I like this spread... here's what I got from it (at 4 am, mind you)

1. The Magician
2. The Emperor
3. Wheel of Fortune
4. Queen of Staffs
5. 5 of Pentacles
6. Knight of Pentacles
7. 4 of Staffs

Me - The Magician (makes sense if you make him female :))
Family - The Emperor - who represents to me wisdom, respect, and strength
and Wheel of Fortune - changes?
The Queen of Staffs is one of my best friends and someone who is very protective of me and experienced even though she's only a year older then me.
The 5 of Pentacles represent two people who are going through a hard time in their life...
The Knight of Pentacles shows me that people think I am ambitions and will reach my goals (he is riding a pegasus to a castle beneath the waxing moon)
The 4 of Staffs shows up in my readings a lot (whether the reading is done by myself or someone else) and represents my 4 goals (family, career, friends, spirituality and wisdom) and how I will someday reach them all and feel my entire life is pretty much based on reaching them.

I meditated on my new deck last night and blessed it, then did a Celtic cross spread with it :D then a few more!

Ill try this one now :) Glad you like it Willow ~you got a really good set of cards!

Empress Spread with the Sacred Circle
1) The Chariot ~ Me always trying to do too many things at once and having to really concetrate on balancing all my prusuits and really going for them all. I am also very head strong and driven so this is quite right at the moment!
2) 3 of Cups (Resolution) ~ We are always fighting but always there for eachohter and loving each other completley. My sister has been winding me up loads recently and we do have stuff to resolve. Ultimately we are always there no matter what and have such a special bond.
3) 9 of Cups (Stability) ~ this is so true, they demand too much of me I think most of the time, I love them both (Mum and sis) and see and speak to them reguarly but they always seem to rely on me to sort stuff out .. Its also a really positive part of our relationship too..
4 & 5 The warrior (Strength) is my sister I think and the Knight of Swords (Change) my Father ~ very true again!
6) 2 of Discs (Fluctuation) ~ This represents my need for balance in relationships with all my friends and family, sometimes I find it hard to find the balance and fit everyone into my lifes and have some time to myself so then just 'disappear' for a week.. & I often get told how 'together'~ balanced I am..
7) 7 of Discs (Prudence) ~ I do go about my life in a rush most of the time (and enjoy it that way) and probally need to take more time out and be carefull and peacefull. Thats where my cats come in! I have the purrfect excuse to stay at home and just chill now!!

Me too Mist.
I'm sure that nothing is at all wrong with this spread, it's just me. I did this spread with the intention of trying to see into what's going on between my hubby, stepson, and I. Unfortunately we have not come together and meshed as a family unit. At this point I think all 3 of us are fed up with all of the others and feeling quite negative. And all I could see in the cards was the negative, I can't be objective with this one. It was my intention to have #4 be my hubby and #5 be my stepson.
#1 3 of Cups
#2 The Tower
#3 High Priestess- Reversed
#4 Knight of Pentacles- Reversed
#5 Four of Cups
#6 The Heirophant- Reversed
#7 7 of Pentacles- Reversed
See what I mean? Argh! I almost NEVER get reversed cards, and certainly never like this in one spread. To me that means that a lot of positive energy has been blocked. What's even more strange is that I did this reading last night. I was planning to ask you all about this this morning but something stopped me. Then this evening when I passed the room that I do my readings in, a spare room with my altar and materials etc, I noticed that there was a card on the floor that must have dropped. I picked it up and turned it over and it was the *8 of cups* , a card which means lost hope, letting go, and depression to me. More Arghs!
Anyone give me your impressions please. I will consider all different ways of looking at this. Thanks and hugs!

Mist, I dont know the Thoth deck and dont know anyway if I want to interperate your reading for you ~ its your reading for you...
Can I suggest that you try to lay them out again in the order you got them and spend a while looking deep into each and yourself.. Only you can gain the confidence to read for yourself :)

Babes, Im sorry this reading brought up some rough emotions for you. Maybe it had to so you can sort them out!! I dont know about the reversed cards ~ maybe they appeared to ring the alarm bells even more and really get your attention.. Take another look at what each one stands for and look deep into yourself ~ you already have I know, thats why the 8 of cups is there too ~ it also means to me ~ turning your back on things ~ I think you know that you really need to sort this out and work on your family unit. Why dont you give the Lovers spread a go and see what turns up..
Good luck hun and keep your chin up, youve got a gorgeous smile :D

Thanks Silver...
I'm really trying to not let it defeat me, to keep working at it.
No one has every said that a "blended" family has been easy. Even those who have worked it out in the end, admit to very rough spots along the way. I've been trying to hold up a false sense that everything is ok, but recently this has all boiled to the surface. Repression only works for so long!
Step-son has been on vacation with his Mom for 3 weeks but will be back here this evening. I'm hoping that after this time-out, we can start over in a way.
Good suggestion, the Lover's Spread. Think I'll go weed in the garden for a while to get my mind cleared, and then try it this afternoon :) !
