View Full Version : Could my daughter have a faerie friend?

I don't know *anything* about faeries, its not something I ever really clicked with, but I'm starting to wonder about them. Do they "latch on" to people? I'm asking because I think someone or something is playing with my child.
She is 18 months old, and I've noticed a couple of things happening in the past couple of weeks.
First of all, there's the lock on the door in my car. I will strap my daughter into her car seat and shut the door but I never lock it. (I have this paranoia about getting in a wreck and being trapped inside because the doors are locked.) But then when I get to wherever I'm going and I go to get her out, the back door is locked. Now I know damn well I didn't lock it, and I have even made sure that I wasn't accidentally locking it by bumping into it with my butt or my purse while I'm strapping her in.
Then there are incidents like this. The other night, I was looking for one of her favorite books, I tore through the bookshelf and could not find it anywhere. The next morning, I'm sitting at my desk and I look over, and there's the book, right in the middle of the shelf, all by itself. There's no way I could have missed it the night before.
So am I losing my mind, or does my daughter possibly have a little friend?

It's quite possible, that's for sure. I've had little friends as long as I can remember. At the very least, someone is protecting her!

Um with the whole lock thing (not to burst your bubble) depending on how old your car is...today most cars come with this feature so that if you go fast enough, all the doors lock. So that could be it...

It has always been my belief that whenever you really need a friend, or even when we don't know we need them they are there for us. All we have to do is look. As I got older I found ways to better "see" them by using my belief. After all that is what we do best. We Believe. So yes to your question. She is with you enough that with you already practicing then do you not think it possible that she could be practicing too? Just maybe this is her way...she likes the Fairies that us as older persons tend to not believe in because we are older. She is a perfect recepticle to the Fey. Let her enjoy and maybe she can show you.

Faries are mischieveous, it sounds like possible farie action. But about your car, sometimes old cars will lock when you shut the door. The locking mechaism doesnt work correctly and slips sometimes

Mischievious doesn't mean evil, and if your daughter is not feeling harrassed, or if nothing bad is happening, then is there really any problem? Aside from all the dark fae out there, most are fairly nice, especially to children. The rest usually want to be left alone anyway.
My daughters don't have any fairy friends yet, but my cat does...

I feel it's entirely possible. I know my 10 month old certainly has a friend of some sort. He is constantly looking up and to the right at something and holds his toys up to show it/he/she, will talk to it, and even just stares at it (we know it's not something on the wall because it's frequently happened in places that there's been nothing on the wall). He's even tried pointing his friend out to us, he will look at us, make sure we're paying attention and then literally point to a spot in the air above him. :)
I wouldn't worry about it at all unless she seems bothered.

Mischievious doesn't mean evil, but faeries can still be dangerous. My cousin has a few faeries that she talks to, and they seem alright. Still if you're daughter is young I would be cautious. She might get pixie-led *wink*

I'm going to send out the welcome wagon (doing some of the things people here at MW have suggested) and see if they really are here. And if they are, then we'll make the best of it. :)

My daughters had faerie friends when I was living in my old apartment. When they were babies, sometimes I would wake up at night (out of habit, because they usually wake up around 2 am for a feeding) and peek around into their room, and they would be sitting up in their cribs, smiling and laughing at something that I couldn't see. But they were happy, so I would go back to bed, and they would get up in the morning happy and well rested. So I would leave little libations of milk and honey out for them on my altar once a week to thank them for letting me get some rest!
