Okay...so I start my first class at college in 50 minutes.
I am nervous as heck!
Today is Criminal Justice, tomorrow is Criminal Investigation...my knees are shaking!
Is this normal? I know I've been out of school for, uh...18 years, but c'mon!

Yes, it's normal!

When I went back I was scared to death, but after the first week I felt a lot better.

Its definitely normal! I just started school last semester and it was the first time I'd been to school in 10 years. I still have my rough days, especially since I go to a women's college (a Catholic one at that!), but you'll be fine!
I think its awesome that you're going back!!! If you ever wanna vent or need any help with anything, PM me! (I'm taking law classes so we're kinda on the same wavelength. :))

Feh, normal as anything. Take comfort in the fact that most of the other people in the room will be nervous as hell too.

I will! Most definately! Expect a PM in about, oh...2 hour after my class!

You'll be fine...in fact, you'll probably do better than a lot of the more "normal" aged students because you won't be dealing with all of the "Hooray, I'm finally free of my parents!" feelings that sometimes take over and ruin people's grades. You'll be just fine!

It's just like riding a bike, of course I always fell off...
:hehehehe: BUT you will be fine :)

How did you know I was like that back in '82? LOL! And I made it thru ASU with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry anyway! Dang! THAT was hard!

You'll do great! I went back to school after about 8 years, and it was scary at first, but you'll be in the swing of things in no time! I'm here if you need me too, so PM me if you need someone to talk to. :hugz:

Here's a wish for you to ace every test. :)

Sister tells me that her best bet for doing all her papers and work is with study buddies and they get to it right after they get home. Maybe it'll help you too.

Tell me about it! I've got 3 papers due this month! It'll be fun though. I love the reading. It feels good to know that I am 'expanding my horizons'! LOL
I've got some great links for research and stuff, study skills, etc. Lemme know if you need any. :)
And I think going back to school in your later years makes you appreciate it more. You're not dealing with all of the issues that kids right out of high school are dealing with. A lot of the girls in my classes don't seem to be taking it too seriously and it bugs me because I worry that when they get older, they're gonna wish they had!
