I have been studying Paganism I have been around and around in circles on the web and read so many beautiful sites. Here is my concern. I have a five year old daughter her father and I are not together anymore and he is very strict catholic and something like this would send him through the roof he would probably try to take her from me. Should I wait till she's older to introduce her to my new found faith. I am not in a position right now anyway to even begin to explain it to her as i am learning myself and would appreciate any advie but i am not sure how to go about this. thanks Caren

I am also new here.
I came to post a message to Kaylara because she is a tough girl to contact online, and I want her to give me the link to the BITCHIN BANNER I made for my site, and she has too many e-mail addresses and web-spaces for me to keep track of. This seems to be the only place I can trace her back to regularly.
Some of your threads are interesting, so I decided to jump in.
I'm not a pagan, but golly gee everyone I know is (or claims to be), and I am very interested in the subculture you folks are carving out for yourselves.

First of all...
Welcome to Mystic Wicks loveheals and Illuminatus!!! So glad you decided to join us!
Secondly...
Maybe you ought to wait for her cues. There are lots of instances that might require you to explain what you believe. (Not that kids aren't good for asking questions anyways!)
Personally, I just live my beliefs and just answer my children's questions openly and honestly and let them decide what they themselves want to believe.
Another thing I do is try to at least have a general understanding of several religions to give them varying points of view. I think this gives them an understanding or basic knowledge that there is more than one way to look at things and that each, is right for those individuals. Tolerance is a great thing to teach a child. It encompasses many aspects of our lives.
I hope this helps...

thanks i can use a little tolerance myself and teaching a 5 year old ball of fire is definetly hard. I'd be willing to take some tips on that if anyone is interested lol.

Welcome to you both,
I agree with Dria El, I do the same thing with my son, who is six.
I want my children to make their own decisions about religon and what they believe, but I will answer their questions as best as I can.
