I'm just wondering if anyone else here has worked with or has experiences with Grian. She's the Irish Sun - I've seen her referred to as a Goddess, but also as a faery queen. I'm not really looking for basic info - I'm past that stage - but am trying to see what other people have experienced, for comparison. Any thoughts are welcome.

I don't really have an experience with Grainne, but I thought I'd throw this out there for you. In Irish folklore, the fae folk or sidhe are usually considered to be the gods/goddesses of the the Tuatha de Dannan. After they were defeated by the Milesians, they retreated into the hills and there became the Sidhe or Daoine Sidhe. This is probably why you've seen reference to Grainne as both a goddess and a faery queen. Simply put, she was both.

Although, I found this article (http://merganser.math.gvsu.edu/myth/giant.html) about the myth of Grainne and Diarmuid and how it can be seen as a echo of the relationship between the underworld god Diarmaid Donn and the sun goddess Grainne. It's not long, but it's intersting.

And if you've not read the myth dealing with Diarmuid and Grainne, here (http://www.shee-eire.com/Magic&Mythology/Myths/FinnMacCool/Diarmuid-and-Grainne/Page1.htm) it is. It's part of the Fenian Cyle if you're curious.

Edit: I see the link 13thChylde gave you is actually a better retelling of the story. But I'll leave my link up as well.
