thats right. and he's also my boss. and one of my best friends husband. and he's a great (bungie-jumping) jerkface. excuse me.
he has been talking to the other assistant manager about how he want's so much to just be able to fire me rather than trying to accomidate my dissabilities. he's going to talk to the regonal manager about doing so. I hope he realized that the law would be on my side if he did so. also I think his wife would leave him. help me juniecat. and anyone else. there is SUCH bad energy at work right now

he want's so much to just be able to fire me rather than trying to accomidate my dissabilities Grrrrrrrrrrrr
I am physically disabled.
I bet he's one of those people who has to park his car as close to doors as possible so he never has to walk far.
I dont even use the disabled parking stalls because I dont have to. I need to make myself push hard and work and keep moving.
I get mad at the 'your a pain in my butt attitude' because their lazy and I'm disabled.
Are you worried they might make your life hell to get you to quit?
The law hasnt helped anyone I know yet. Companies are good with a loop hole....She couldnt handle the work, it had nothing to do with disabilities.
I will light a candle for you tonight when it is quiet.
Sorry if I sound all bias here but people can be cold. I never ask for anything from anyone but still get nasty from people once in awhile so this hit a nerve.

My husband is partially disabled and has trouble walking--he has a neurological problem that affects his balance as well because it involves clonus. People let their kids run around wild, I've seen them start to run into Sam before and almost topple him over. One woman hit him in the back with a shopping cart because he wasn't walking fast enough, and so on and so forth....and with a cane, it's pretty obvious he's got a problem and isn't just 'being lazy' or drunk or whatever they might be thinking.
When I'm around, I just let my tattoos show and walk beside him with the attitude of "you mess with us and you're history"...but it's rough to see how little regard or even common courtesy people have today. Same with jobs--disabled doesn't mean stupid, and it doesn't mean lazy, and it sure as hell doesn't mean 'unable' most of the time.

These people need a swift kick up the arse. My mum is blind and she has a guide dog that goes everywhere with us. People knock into her and ask her [not politely] to get moving and wonder why I go off my rocker when they do. I usually ask them if they are blind and if they say no, I go "Well my mum is, cant you tell, the dog isnt there for bloody decoration.."

I, too, have a couple of physical disabilities. . .I have had trouble throughout my career, even with ADA. . .
I am sorry you are going through this. If anything happens, please consider contacting the ACLU for assistance. . . document everything!!!! and if there is a Rehabilitative Services in your state, please contact them as well. They are the only ones who can do anything, it seems.
Bless you! Energy being sent!

The rules can be found here:
http://www.mysticwicks.com/faq.php?faq=mw_faqs#faq_rules
We don't generally edit posts for a damn here or a shit there, but when its reported and its excessive we have to do something.

Well, we cant read every post, sometimes language slips by us. Before we had automatic censoring of the *f* word I did a search for it and found that it was used hundreds of times without an admin seeing it. We have to rely on reports and it just so happened that the post in question (the first one in this thread) was reported. I hate censorship as much as the next person, but we have rules and we have to uphold them the best we can.
Thanks.

I have no doubt about that. Just felt like explaining, since it seemed like our policies and administrative abilities were being questioned.

xilfa: EEOC
Equal Employment Opportunities. You should talk to someone there about what Jonathan's been saying about you. Though, honestly, all you may have to do is spread a rumor around work that you're talking to someone at EEOC. I've had to unleash the EEOC on my employers a couple of times, & now The Powers That Be are scared of me. I say EEOC & some management people nearly wet themselves fixing what pissed me off. I haven't had to threaten anyone with EEOC in years.
Good luck, sweetie, & keep us posted.
