Hello, MM everyone. I'm not exactly new to Paganism and Wicca, I've been learning and reading for about it for a while now...But I've never found a path/tradition. I believe in the Goddess and the God, the Lord and Lady. I am pagan in that sense...but besides that I'm not sure where I fit in...
Wicca- I thought it was for me, but I don't believe you have to do all those things it involves (I've been told Wiccans basically have to do "witchcraft" to be considered Wiccan, they go hand in hand [if this is wrong, let me know])...I don't have an alter, no ritual tools...I've never done a spell or ritual...I believe in thanking Them and doing things for sabbats and special times but not just for doing ...So I don't think Wicca is where I fit in...
I was wondering with Paganism Is the belief in the God and Goddess enough? (I do believe in other things, not just that...that are involved in paganism) Or do you have to have all the things Wiccans do? Because right now, I just follow the Lord and Lady (much like I guess a Christian who loves and believes in their God does, yet doesn't go to chruch). Should I do things? I say thanks and prayers and belessings and such but do I need to to rituals and spells?
And does it matter what I call Them? I usually call upon Brighid and the celtic pantheon...and sometimes the kemetic...

Anyway, I'm sorry this is long and not quite clear! I hope it can be understood. As I said before, I'm not new to paganism/Wicca I'm just lost as to where I should go...I have on one to help me with these things, I'm a solitary. Any help is welcomed, I realize it'll be personal opinions and such and that's fine.

Blessed be,
LaBelle

Well, I consider myself Pagan for lack of a "better" title to place my beliefs under. Like you I don't have an alter, no ritual tools...I've never done a spell or ritual, etc. I also believe in Gods and Goddesses. I do not believe that they are here solely for the purpose of my worshiping them (I mean how egotistical is *that*?). So based on these beliefs alone, I am not Christian or Jewish. So the only other "title" that would be broad enough to cover my beliefs is Pagan.

And because I pull my beliefs from everywhere and change them constantly, I consider my Pagan "path" to be Eclectic. I have never fit into a very structured way of doing things, so I don't know that I will ever find one *true* path to follow.

Totally off topic, but Hello fellow Washingtians!!!!

Not all wiccans cast spells it isn't a requirement. But as I have been studing I think one of the most constant idea is that you doo what feels right All else are titles.

Hi all!!!
LaBelle,I think you're doing ok.
I'm not Wiccan, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to do magic to be one.
I've yet to find a specific path myself.I've been doing this paticular Path 5 years, and still can't pick just one Pantheon or Tradition.
I figured out I wasn't Wiccan pretty early on.But I have used the name Witch to describe it,and Pagan fits too.
My own Path is just mine,it has the things I've found to be enlightening,or inspiring,to me.
I try to follow one pantheon for a year, and then try a new one.I'm a mutt ancestor wise,so I figure I'll just keep learning different ones until I settle on one.And if I don't,I'll have a much wider view of Pantheons in general.
All this is just how I see stuff, and it is by no means the only way to look at it.
Lately I've been thinking I should call myself an Eclectic Electric Hippy Shaman.
I get to be the High Priest, and there's an exclusive membership list composed of just me!A Trad of One!Hee hee!
Just keep learning, and you'll do fine!
Good luck 2ya!!!

You won't know what your path is until you've traveled it for a while! A path isn't something that can be gotten from a book but it comes about when you've had an opportunity to reflect on who you are and where you've been and where you need to go. Only you can write that script.
Meanwhile do what you enjoy and seek out opportunities to learn. Don't hesitate in your exploration by wasting time and energy over the worries over the 'importance' or 'correctness' of what you are doing. Just start somewhere and don't judge the outcome.

One of the very first things I remember reading about Wicca/witchcraft is "Not all Wiccans do magick. Not all who do magick are Wiccan."

I know a number of pagans and yes, wiccans, who don't really do spells. Witchcraft tends to popularise Paganism and Wicca, but isn't required.

Just wanted to say, I agree with what's been said. Not all Wiccans have to practice magic. Take the parts that work for you, I don't think the title is as important, call yourself Pagan until you find what path it is you'd like to follow, you don't necessarily have to follow one certain path. I'm a solitary too, and the thing I've learned is to do what feels comfortable to you, as long as it follows the rede.

and.. Merry Meet fellow Washintonians. :)
