Ok, forgive me if this is posted somewhere else, but I tried a search and got nothin'. "Oak" is too short a word and "burn" gets me like 500 pages. Ok I'm exaggerating, but you get my meaning.
Any way I was brushing up on my Beltane info. It's coming up and Since it is my favorite time of the year I've been considering it as a Wedding day (that's a ways off still, but so what:p)
So anyway, I read somewhere that it's good to burn your bale fires with oak wood. But I could've sworn I read somewhere that oak was not a wood that should be burned.

Am I nutso?

It might be something that depends on your tradition, but as far as I know burning oak is fine. The only tree that's not okay to burn (according to the Rede) is elder. I hope I'm remembering that correctly.
