I know I have To get to know the meanings again, that i know, but how do i get more in depth with them? I havent held them in a very long time, but today when i held them for the first time in ages, I felt a weird calming sense of feeling. it was a happy kind of feeling. does anyone know what this would of been?
anyway, any comments would be helpful as to get me really close to my cards.

Maybe they missed you! :) I know some people feel they're just a deck of paper, but I believe that if you put enough energies in them, some sort of deva or entity forms in them. Maybe it felt lonely.
One of the best ways I practice is just randomly shuffling and drawing cards, and tying to remember the meaning, while also focusing on the energies I get from it to judge its meaning. Also (if you feel ready) could begin doing readings, usually for yourself and people close to you. I find it involves a lot less energy if you do a reading for someone you're close to and know well.
I'm also in the process of getting to know my new deck. Lemme know how you do! :floating:

i found it helps to draw a different card daily and meditate on that card. get to know it personally. think of things during your day about that certain card that would pertain to what is happening around you. that way you form connections that will help you to interpret them when you draw them in a reading. doing readings for people is of course the best way to learn. many people around here are really helpful and would be glad to be guinea pigs. just post it and you will be surprised. i am always up for it if you need help!!!!

OK, I'll regret this later....
Seperate the minors from the majors,
Concentrate one the majors...Draw two or three;
the supplement your focus with a card or two from the minor...
I'm no authority, you should still question me!

I would certainly say your cards have missed you - i get that feeling too, when i've just been soooo busy & not had time to give my poor babies attention.
Don't feel that you have to mesmorise each card meaning, i always stress this so much to people, it's not the way i did it, and i now give out successful tarot readings!
The way to start (i think) is by going through each card & just letting your imagination run wild with the image, what do you get from the image? What vibes does it give off? Tell a short story using that particular card.
After you have studied them, with your own inuition, start to look at traditional meanings, but again, not mesmorising them! The more you do this, the better you will get to know your cards - and begin to understand them and interpret them in the way YOU want to (not from books)
Also, i found what was useful for me, was to chuck myself out there & start reading the cards almost immediatly for others, so i could get to know my cards better.
If you are shy about reading for someone face-2-face offer a reading on the internet - thats how i started :)
Good Luck!
