Okay, I'm just wondering what things should adorn your altar at Samhain.
I've read the following:
Candles: Orange (though red and black are also appropriate)
Symbols: Cats, snakes, cauldrons, jack o laterns
Food: Apples, pumpkins, pomegranates
Well I have the following:
Cauldron ( thanks to spirit wind YAY! )
Red and Black candles
Apples
I even have a cat figurine
but I'm wondering what other decorations etc go with Samhain.
Blessed Be,

If part of your celebration is honoring your ancestors or loved ones who have died (pretty common), then the big thing would be things that remind you of those people.
When we do group ritual for Samhain, everyone brings photos/letters/objects to put on a big altar table. I bring letters my father wrote to me, a model made of my beloved horse (now dead), some family jewelry. My HPS brings photos of her family, of her cats who've died. Things like that.

incense is always good. Use something like musk and cinnamon - rich musky scents :)
Jack-o-lanterns were originally made of turnips to scare away evil spirits, and left by the hearth or outside the front door. Maybe you could make one :)
As well, I think things which are associated with the Dark Moon are appropriate here, but that's just a personal opinon.

I use leaves and gourds also on my Samhain altar, along with bittersweet, nuts, orange & black candles, pumpkins, and dried sheaves of wheat..... I tend to use things I gather around outside :-)

Ya, crunchy autumn leaves is a good idea!
