*He says as we have been sittting here in our mobile home since 6:00 with the sirens going off twice and he didn't think it was necessary to go to a shelter - even after i reminded him that most tornado deaths are due to failure to heed the warnings*

So far, we've only heard about wind damage, no reports of injuries or deaths that we know of. There were two very close to us tonight but they moved on quickly. There is an eeriness in the air, so i don't think we're out of the woods yet.

IL did get a bad one... 4 died and a bunch were hurt very badly... at work we called an orange alert (meaning every employee on standby) but luckily, we only got one Trauma from it all, and it wasn't life threatening... he's going to loose his leg, but other than that, he's fine.
But after last year, we are expecitng more tornado's to hit us, so please keep IL in your thoughts as well...

Having lived in Kansas and in the path of a few tornados I fully understand what is happening in that part of the country. Energies and strenth to all who live in the path of natures winds.

Having a rocky morning here in Kansas. There are a lot of small storms, but they're pretty strong. Winds tore apart a cafe about 30 miles southwest of us, but I don't know if they were straight line winds or a twister. I have The Weather Bug activated on the computer and it chirps whenever there is a new warning. I'm checking the radar pretty often.

After three nights in a row of the sirens going off, I am over this whole tornado thing already!

Stay safe and heed the warnings Flar! Drag him if you must Freyja!

Mol's sister is a storm tracker and she has called us the past three nights ... also been very irritated that we were out and about during the storms, but you know life goes on.

I work in Xenia, Ohio, where there have been two F5 tornadoes. And I live in a trailer park. AND, I have a mortal fear of tornadoes. I have empathy and energy for all of those in the line of danger. May everyone be safe and sound.

South of here strong winds blew over two semi trucks, flattened a big round barn that was being restored (three men working there were injured), two or three towns took significant damage to buildings and have lost electric power. Lots of flooding in this area. I am so relieved that the worst of it went south of us, but all those who were affected surely have my sympathies and energy to recover from this storm.

You all definately have some energy coming your way from me...I was involved in one as a baby in North Carolina, I have predicted each every one that has rumbled through here in Northern VA....and I watched a funnel cloud once in January go right over the apartment I was living in and it didn't touch down, but when it blew over us..it sure sounded like a freight train rolling through there...they don't rally scare me as much as they amaze me...very powerful twist of mother nature....

Freyja and flar, if you aren't going to head to the shelters when the sirens sound (and I know they go on and off so you could spend all your time going back and forth to them), at least work out a very clear emergency plan.

Take care, folks! I hope this tornado season ends up mild.

It worries me that tornado season is here.
I live in a trailer too and the closest place to go is my mother-in-laws house which is a little over 2 miles away.

We did a drill once, during a regular(not severe) thunderstorm, to see how long it would take to get there. Man did we blow it.
We all ran out of the house and jumped in the car...forgot the keys!!!
We searched the house for like 10 minutes, found keys.
Then back in the car and down the road we go.
Made a turn...streets closed. Their ripping it up!!
Turn around and go another way.
Finally get there about 30+ minutes after we first left the house.
By then the thunderstorm was over and the sun came out as we pulled in the in-laws driveway.
If it had been real.......woe.

We learned a lot.

Yes, it does. As I was driving home this afternoon I saw what appeared to be a wall cloud in the direction of our house. It wasn't but it is definitely raining!

Flar's so little I'd be afraid he'd take off flying in a high wind :T My ex-hubby was terrified of storms. We lived in an apt complex that didn't have a shelter. One night we were only under a watch and he made us all get in the car to go to a fraidy hole - and drove into a flooded street where the car stalled and wouldn't start again. I was never more scared in my life! Of course, now it seems comical - I was yelling at him that we were gonna die now for sure!

So maybe Flar has the right idea about staying home. Honey, was is a stormbinger? And rainsticks bring rain, sweetie.....that we don't need.....well, not this much, anyway :T

Protective energies to all. I may seem to be taking it lightly but I do know what they can do.
